This standard applies to the manufacture and acceptance of spiral wound gaskets for steel pipe flanges which have a nominal pressure PN20 (Class150) ~ PN420 (Class2500), as specified in SH/T 3406 "Steel pipe flanges in petrochemical industry". 2 Normative references The following documents are essential to the application of this document. For the dated documents, only the versions with the dates indicated are applicable to this document; for the undated documents, only the latest version (including all the amendments) is applicable to this standard. GB/T 3280 Cold rolled stainless steel plate sheet and strip GB/T 12385 Standard test method for sealability of gaskets for pipe flanges GB/T 12621 Standard test method for stress relaxation of gaskets for pipe flanges GB/T 12622 Standard test method for compressibility and recovery of gaskets for pipe flanges GB/T 27793 Beater addition non-asbestos gasket materials JB/T 6618 Specifications of PTFE filler for spiral wound gaskets JB/T 7758.2 Specifications of flexible graphite sheets SH/T 3406 Steel pipe flanges in petrochemical industry YB/T 5354 Cold-rolled plates of corrosion-resisting alloys 6 Examination and test 6.1 Examination 6.1.1 Gaskets shall be visually inspected piece by piece. The appearance shall meet the following requirements: a) There shall be no defects such as scratches, unevenness, voids, rust spots, etc. on the surface; b) The non-metallic strips on the surface shall protrude evenly from the metal strips and shall be smooth and flat; c) The solder joints shall not have defects such as weak soldering and overheating. 6.1.2 Gaskets shall be inspected for size in batches. The 100 gaskets of the same type, specification, material are considered as one batch. 5 gaskets are randomly selected from each batch, or 3 gaskets are taken if there are less than 100 gaskets. If any gasket is unqualified, the sample quantity shall be doubled for re-inspection. If there is still one unqualified product, the batch of products will be deemed unqualified. The products that are less than the sampling number shall be 100% inspected. 6.2 Test 6.2.1 When any of the following circumstances occurs, the gasket shall undergo type testing. Type testing includes inspection of size and appearance, as well as performance testing: a) The gasket material, structure, production process, etc. have changed; b) During normal production, type testing shall be conducted once a year; c) The production suspension period exceeds 3 months; d) Type testing is required by the superior supervision department or user. 6.2.2 The compression rate, rebound rate, stress relaxation performance and sealing performance test in the type test shall be carried out in batches. Gaskets of the same material and the same pressure level are one batch. 3 pieces are randomly selected from each batch. If one piece is not qualified, the sample quantity shall be doubled for reinspection. If there is still one unqualified product, the batch of products will be deemed unqualified. The products that are insufficient for sampling shall be 100% inspected. 6.2.3 The inspection of dimensions and appearance shall comply with the relevant provisions of Article 6.1 of this standard. 7 Product quality certificate 7.1 Each batch of gaskets produced according to this standard shall have a product quality certificate. 7.2 The quality certificate shall include the following contents: a) Manufacturer’s name and date of manufacture; b) Official seal of the technical (quality) inspection department of the manufacturer; c) Quality inspector’s signature and inspection date; d) Product name, specifications, materials, execution standards; e) Gasket performance; f) Inspection and test reports required by other users. 8 Marking, tag and packaging 8.1 Marks and tag 8.1.1 The marking of the gasket shall comply with the following requirements: a) Standard number SH/T 3407; b) Gasket type code. The type code shall comply with the provisions of Table 3.1.2 of this standard: c) Nominal pressure; d) Nominal diameter. When the nominal diameter is greater than DN600, the A series or B series mark shall be indicated; e) Gasket material, the gasket material code shall comply with the provisions of Table 8.1.1. gaskets shall be stamped on the outer ring or inner ring. The mark shall include the following: a) Standard number SH; b) Type code. The type code shall comply with the provisions of Table 3.1.2 of this standard; c) Nominal pressure; d) Nominal diameter. When the nominal diameter is greater than DN600, the A series or B series mark shall be indicated; e) Material code; f) Manufacturer’s name or trademark. 8.2 Packing 8.2.1 Products shall be packaged separately according to materials, types, specifications; meanwhile it shall have moisture-proof measures. 8.2.2 The product packing list and quality certificate shall be included in the packaging box. 8.2.3 The product packing list shall include the following contents: a) Manufacturer’s name; b) Exit-factory number and date; c) Product name, specifications, quantity, net weight, etc.; d) Purchaser’s name and contract number; e) The name and number of copies of the attached documents; f) The product packing list shall have the official seal of the manufacturer’s packing department, the packing date, and the signature of the packing inspector. ......
