1 Scope
This Standard specifies the delivery technical conditions for the high strength and
toughness casing manufactured by Baoshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.
This Standard is applicable to seamless casing (hereinafter referred to as casing) used
in the oil and gas production environment of ultra-deep, ultra-high pressure and
complex strata rheology in oil and gas exploration of the petroleum and natural gas
industry.
The steel grades of casing in this Standard are: BG110V, BG125V, BG140V, BG150V,
BG155V.
The casing specified in this Standard includes three product specification levels (PSL1,
PSL2, PSL3).
2 Normative References
The following documents are essential to the application of this document. For the
dated documents, only the versions with the dates indicated are applicable to this
document; for the undated documents, only the latest version (including all the
amendments) is applicable to this document.

API SPEC 5CT:2018 Specification for Casing and Tubing
3 General
Unless otherwise specified in this Standard, this Standard adopts the corresponding
provisions of steel grade of API SPEC 5CT:2018 standard given in Table 1. Generally,
the product is supplied according to the requirements for Level-PSL1 of the
corresponding steel grade of API SPEC 5CT:2018 standard in Table 1. When the
contract indicates that the product specification level is PSL2 or PSL3, it can also be
supplied according to the Level-PSL2 or Level-PSL3 of the corresponding steel grade
purchaser.
7.5 Special requirements
According to the requirements of the purchaser, after consultation between the supplier
and the purchaser, and indicated in the contract, the inspection of the full wall thickness,
hardness, grain size or other items can be carried out. The specific requirements are
stipulated by the agreement between the two parties.
8 Dimensions, Weights, Tolerances, Tube Ends and
Defects
8.1 Dimensions
The available specifications of the casing are 114.30mm~339.72mm (4-1/2″~13-3/8″)
in outer diameter, and the wall thickness is 5.21mm~15.88mm (0.205″ to 0.625″). After
negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser and indicated in the contract, other
specifications can also be supplied.
8.2 Tube end
Unless otherwise specified in the contract, the casing shall adopt BG series special
threads to meet the connection strength and connection efficiency of the casing under
complex conditions. According to the request of the purchaser, the thread specified by
the API SPEC 5CT:2018 and the user can also be used. After negotiation between the
supplier and the purchaser, and indicated in the contract, other special threads can
also be used. The specific requirements are stipulated by the agreement between the
supplier and the purchaser.
Unless otherwise specified in the contract, the tube body and coupling threads shall
not be shot peened.
8.3 Other
Code and specifications, through-diameter requirements, defects, etc. shall comply
with the provisions of Level-PSL1 of corresponding steel grade P110 in API SPEC
5CT:2018.
The dimensional tolerances are divided into two series of "-12.5%t" and "-10.0%t"
according to the wall thickness tolerance. This Standard encourages users to select
the applicable wall thickness tolerance series according to actual application
conditions and oil and gas well safety design specifications. The outer diameter, wall
thickness, weight, length, and straightness allowable deviation of the wall thickness
tolerance series shall meet the requirements of the corresponding series in Table 4.
9 Coupling
The finished product analysis, tensile test, impact test and other test items of the
coupling are carried out on the coupling blank, which shall comply with the provisions
of Clauses 7 and 10.
The steel grades of the tube body and the matching coupling shall comply with the
provisions of Table 5.
10 Inspection and Testing
10.1 Definition of mechanical property test batch
Each batch of products shall be composed of steel tubes with the same steel grade,
the same furnace number, the same specification, and the same heat treatment system.
For specifications (code 1) no greater than 4-1/2, the number of tubing and casing per
batch shall be no greater than 200 pieces; while the number of coupling blanks per
batch shall be no greater than 100 pieces. For specifications (code 1) greater than 4-
1/2, the number of tubing and casing per batch shall be no greater than 100 pieces;
and the number of coupling blanks per batch shall be no greater than 50 pieces.
10.2 Hydraulic test, dimensional inspection, appearance inspection
The hydrostatic test shall meet the requirements of API SPEC 5CT:2018 standard. The
standard hydrostatic test pressure shall be calculated by Formula (6). When the
calculated pressure value is greater than 69.0MPa, the test pressure shall be limited
to 69.0MPa; the appearance inspection shall comply with the provisions of Level-PSL1
of corresponding steel grade P110 in API SPEC 5CT:2018.
The dimensional tolerances shall comply with provisions of the ordered wall thickness
series in Table 4.
10.3 Non-destructive testing
The casing, coupling material or coupling blank shall be subjected to non-destructive
inspection one by one in accordance with the requirements of Level-PSL1 of steel
grade P110 in API SPEC 5CT:2018.
Couplings shall also undergo magnetic particle inspection of the inner and outer
surfaces one by one.
After negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser, and indicated in the contract,
non-destructive testing can also be carried out in accordance with the requirements of
Level-PSL2 or Level-PSL3 of steel grade P110 in API SPEC 5CT:2018.
