Heat-Resistant Casing
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the delivery technical conditions for the heat-resistant casing
manufactured by Baoshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.
This Standard is applicable to seamless casing (hereinafter referred to as casing) used
of heavy oil exploitation in the petroleum and natural gas industry and other high-
temperature environments.
The steel grade of the casing in this Standard are: BG80H, BG90H, BG100H, BG110H,
BG110H-3Cr, BG130H-3Cr.
The casing specified in this standard includes three product specification levels (PSL1,
PSL2, PSL3).
2 Normative Reference
The following documents are essential to the application of this document. For the
dated documents, only the versions with the dates indicated are applicable to this
document; for the undated documents, only the latest version (including all the
amendments) is applicable to this document.
API SPEC 5CT:2018 Specification for Casing and Tubing
3 General
Unless otherwise specified in this Standard, this Standard adopts the corresponding
provisions of the steel grade of API SPEC 5CT:2018 standard given in Table 1.
Generally, it is supplied according to Level-PSL1 for the corresponding steel grade of
API SPEC 5CT:2018 standard in Table 1. When the contract indicates that the product
specification level is PSL2 or PSL3, it can also be supplied according to the Level-
PSL2 or Level-PSL3 for the corresponding steel grade of the API SPEC 5CT:2018
standard in Table 1; but at this time, it shall be negotiated by the supplier and the
purchaser and indicated in the contract about the specific requirements for the selected
Level-PSL2 or Level-PSL3.
7.3 Charpy V-notch impact test requirements
The casing tube body and coupling blank shall be subjected to Charpy V-notch impact
test, and the test temperature shall be 0°C. The specimen orientation, size and
minimum energy absorption requirements of all steel grades shall comply with the
provisions of Table 4.
7.4 Special requirements
According to the requirements of the purchaser, through the negotiation between the
supplier and purchaser, the hardenability, grain size or other items can be inspected;
the specific requirements are stipulated by the agreement between the two parties.
8 Dimensions, Weights, Tolerances, Tube Ends and
Defects
8.1 Dimensions
The available specifications of the casing are 114.30mm~339.72mm (4-1/2″~13-3/8″)
in outer diameter. After negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser and
indicated in the contract, other specifications can also be supplied.
8.2 Tube end
Unless otherwise specified in the contract, the casing shall use the thread specified in
API SPEC 5CT:2018. According to the requirements of the purchaser, after negotiation
between the supplier and the purchaser and indicated in the contract, other special
threads can also be used; the specific requirements are determined by the agreement
between the supplier and the purchaser.
According to the requirements of the purchaser, after negotiation between the supplier
and the purchaser, and indicated in the contract, the coupling thread and sealing
surface (if special thread) can take surface treatments of high temperature manganese
phosphating, copper plating or hot-dip galvanizing.
8.3 Other
The code and specifications, length, straightness, size and weight and allowable
deviation, diameter requirements, defects, etc. shall comply with the provisions of
corresponding steel grade (see Table 1) of API SPEC 5CT:2018.
