This Standard applies to carbon-graphite sealing ring for mechanical seals. 2 Normative references The following documents contain the provisions which, through reference in this Standard, become the provisions of this Standard. For the dated references, their subsequent amendments (excluding corrections) or revisions do not apply to this Standard. However, the parties who enter into agreement based on this Standard are encouraged to investigate whether the latest editions of these documents are applicable. For undated reference documents, the latest editions apply to this Standard. Sealing rings for non-balanced and balanced mechanical seals shall have a test pressure of 1MPa and 2.4MPa for 10min and shall not leak. If there are special requirements, it shall be carried out according to the drawings. 4.10 The carbon-graphite sealing ring is not allowed to have cracks, oxidation, delamination, penetrating pitting, impervious impregnation. 4.11 The chemical corrosion resistance, friction coefficient, recommended pairing materials and thermal performance parameters of carbon-graphite sealing rings are given in informative Appendix A, B, and C, respectively. 5 Test methods 5.1 The test methods of Shore hardness, transverse strength, compressive strength, volume density, and open porosity of carbon-graphite sealing ring material shall be in accordance with JB/T 8133. 5.2 The hydraulic inspection of carbon-graphite sealing ring material is carried out on a dedicated hydraulic test device. 5.3 The size tolerances and form and position tolerances of carbon-graphite sealing ring are respectively carried out according to the provisions of GB/T 3177-1997 and GB 1958-1980. 5.4 USE an intuitive method to inspect the surface defects of carbon-graphite sealing ring. 6 Inspection rules 6.1 The carbon-graphite sealing ring, before leaving the factory, shall be inspected by the quality inspection department. The inspection items shall be carried out in accordance with 4.2~4.10. 6.2 The sampling scheme of Shore hardness, transverse strength, compressive strength, density, and open porosity of carbon-graphite sealing ring material is in accordance with GB/T 2828. USE double normal sampling scheme. The special inspection level is S-3. The acceptance quality level AQL=6.5. 6.3 The sampling scheme of size tolerances, form and position tolerances, hydraulic test of carbon-graphite sealing ring material is in accordance with GB/T 2828. USE single normal sampling scheme. The special inspection level is S-3. The acceptance quality level AQL=6.5. 6.4 Surface defects of carbon-graphite sealing ring shall be 100% inspected. 7 Marking, packaging, transportation, and storage 7.1 The non-working surface of carbon-graphite sealing ring shall be indicated with marks such as the manufacturer’s trademark or code, type. 7.2 The packaging of carbon-graphite sealing ring shall ensure that it will not be damaged during transportation and storage. 7.3 The products, when leaving the factory, shall be packaged in a sturdy packaging box. The words such as “Handle with care” and “Keep dry” shall be marked on the outside of the box. A packing list shall be attached to the box with the following: a) Manufacturer’s name and trademark; b) Product name and type specifications; c) Lot number; d) Quantity and weight; e) Standard number; f) Exit-factory date. 7.4 The product, when leaving the factory, shall be accompanied by a product qualification certificate. 7.5 The product shall be stored in a clean and dry warehouse. ......
