Foreword
This Standard replaces GB/T 8949-1995, Polyurethane dry-processing artificial
leather.
Compared with GB/T 8949-1995, the major changes of this Standard are.
-- Change the product classification from “divide into classes A, B, and C
according to the purpose” of the original standard to “divide into classes A
and B according to the cloth base classification”;
-- In 4.1.3 of this Standard, change the length of each roll and its limit
deviation from “the length is generally 50 m/roll, and the limit deviation is
+0.1 m” of the original standard to “the length is determined by negotiation
between the supplier and the buyer, and the length cannot be a negative
deviation”;
-- In 4.1.4 of this Standard, determine different indicators according to the
length of each roll;
-- Cancel product quality gradation in this Standard;
-- In this Standard, divide it into general physical and mechanical properties
(4.3.1) AND negotiated physical and mechanical properties (4.3.2)
according to the importance of physical and mechanical properties to
products;
-- In 5.2 of this Standard, change “cut more than 0.65 m along the warp
direction of the product as the sample” of the original standard to “cut 0.8
m along the warp direction”;
-- Add requirements for rubbing resistance, bursting strength, discoloration,
and low-temperature flex resistance.
This Standard replaces GB/T 8949-1995 from the date of implementation.
This Standard was proposed by China National Light Industry Council.
This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee
48 on Plastic Products of Standardization Administration of China.

3 Product classification
Products are classified by cloth base, as shown in Table 1.
4 Requirements
4.1 Specifications
4.1.1 Product thickness and its limit deviation
It shall be in accordance with Table 2.
4.1.2 Product width and its limit deviation
It shall be in accordance with Table 3.
4.1.3 Length of each roll and its limit deviation
The length of each roll shall be determined by negotiation between the supplier
and the buyer; it cannot be a negative deviation.
4.3 Physical and mechanical properties
4.3.1 General physical and mechanical properties
The general physical and mechanical properties shall meet the requirements of
Table 6.
4.3.2 Negotiated physical and mechanical properties
Negotiated physical and mechanical properties refer to the physical and
mechanical properties items that are agreed upon by the supplier and the buyer.
The negotiated physical and mechanical properties shall meet the requirements
of Table 7.
5 Test method
5.1 Sample state adjustment and test environment
Perform it according to the standard environment, of which the temperature is
23 °C ± 2 °C, and the relative humidity is 50% ± 10%, and the general deviation
range that are specified in GB/T 2918-1998; the sample state adjusting time is
not less than 4 h; the test is carried out under this condition.
5.2 Sampling
Cut more than 0.8 m along the warp direction of the product as a sample.
Remove 50 mm on both sides in the width direction. The sample cut dimensions
are shown in Table 8; the arrangement is shown in Figure 1.
5.3 Thickness
5.4 Width
Use a steel tape or a meter whose accuracy is 1 mm to measure 3 points
arbitrarily along the length direction. Take the minimum one as the result,
accurate to 1 mm.
5.5 Length
Use a suitable measuring tool or instrument to measure; the result is accurate
to 1 cm.
5.6 Appearance
Visually inspect under natural light.
5.7 Tensile load and elongation at break
The tensile testing machine shall comply with the provisions of 5.1.2 ~ 5.1.5 in
GB/T 1040.3-2006;
5.9 Peeling load
5.9.1 Instruments
5.9.1.1 The cupping machine shall be in accordance with the provisions of GB/T
1040.3.
5.9.1.2 Constant temperature oven with a blower device.
5.9.2 Test procedure
Take 3 samples; use an appropriate amount of adhesive glue to paste the
coating and the same leather coating together (the sample must be firmly
bonded); then, place the bonded sample at 135 °C ± 5 °C;
5.9.3 Test result
5.9.3.1 Take the arithmetic average of each group of samples, accurate to 1 N;
5.10 Surface color fastness
Perform it according to the provisions of GB/T 3920-2008; the standard lining
fabric for friction shall meet the provisions of GB/T 7565-1987.The test results
are evaluated according to GB/T 250-2008.
5.11 Anti-blocking
5.11.1 Instruments
Constant temperature oven with a blower device.
5.15 Bursting strength
5.15.1 Test equipment
The Mullen disruptive strength testing machine shall meet the requirements of
GB/T 1539-2007.
5.15.2 Test procedure
Place the coating surface of the sample down; use a ring fixture to clamp it;
evenly press it until the sample is burst. The bursting strength is expressed by
the pressure when the sample is burst. The test result is the arithmetic average
of 3 samples, accurate to 0.1 MPa.
5.16 Discoloration
