5.2.1.2 Unless otherwise specified, the test bar is heat treated in the same
furnace as the casting it represents.
5.2.2 When it is necessary to sample from the casting body, the sampling
position and performance index are agreed upon by the supplier and the
purchaser.
5.2.3 The tensile test shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of
GB/T 228.
5.2.4 The impact test shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of
GB/T 229.
5.3 Surface inspection
5.3.1 The method for inspecting the surface roughness of castings shall be
carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 15056.
5.3.2 For the dimensional inspection of castings, the measuring tools, samples,
etc. of the corresponding precision shall be selected.
5.4 Non-destructive testing
When the purchaser requests non-destructive testing of castings, the positions,
methods, and standards for testing shall be agreed upon by the supplier and
the purchaser; and shall be indicated on the drawings or the contract.
5.4.1 Ultrasonic examination shall be carried out in accordance with the
provisions of GB/T 7233.1.
5.4.2 Radiographic testing shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions
of GB/T 5677.
5.4.3 Penetrant testing shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of
GB/T 9443.
5.4.4 Magnetic particle testing shall be carried out in accordance with the
provisions of GB/T 9444.
6 Inspection rules
6.1 Inspection and acceptance
The inspection and acceptance of castings shall be carried out by the supplier.
The purchaser has the right to, in accordance with the provisions of this
Standard or the contract, conduct a re-inspection.
d) There are casting defects in the sample.
6.5 Re-inspection
When the test results of mechanical properties do not meet the requirements,
and not due to the reasons of 6.4.3, the inspection may be repeated according
to 5.2.
6.5.1 For the tensile property re-inspection, from the same batch of test bars,
two other samples shall be taken. The test results of each sample shall conform
to the provisions of 4.3; then the tensile properties of the batch of castings are
qualified. If the test result of one of the samples in the re-inspection is still
unqualified, the supplier may process according to 6.6.
6.5.2 For the retest of the impact test, from the same batch of test bars, three
other samples shall be taken. The test results shall comply with the provisions
of 4.3; and the average of the test results of the six samples including the initial
inspection shall comply with the requirements of Table 2. Then the impact
absorbing energy of the batch of castings is qualified. If the re-inspection result
is still unqualified, the supplier may process according to 6.6.
6.6 Re-heat treatment
When the re-inspection of mechanical properties is unqualified, the batch of
castings and test bars is allowed to be re-heat treated; and then inspected
according to 6.3.2 and 6.4.2. Without the consent of the purchaser, re-heat
treatment shall not exceed two times (no limit on the number of tempers).
6.7 Surface quality
The surface quality of the casting shall be inspected according to 4.4.1.
6.8 Casting’s geometry, dimensions, dimensional tolerances, and
machining allowances
Casting’s geometry, dimensions, dimensional tolerances, and machining
allowances shall be inspected in accordance with 4.4.2.
7 Marking, packaging, transportation, storage
7.1 Marking
7.1.1 The casting shall be cast or marked with a mark. The mark may be the
following or part of it:
a) Casting number;
