1 Scope
This Standard specifies the terms and definitions, size series and selection requirements
for width and height of opening for windows and doors in building.
This Standard is applicable to the opening for windows and doors of various materials
and exterior walls of industrial and civil buildings.
2 Normative references
The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this
document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references,
the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions defined in GB/T 5823 and
GB/T 50002 as well as the followings apply.
3.1 coordinating size between opening and frame of windows and doors (width and
height)
It complies with the provisions for width, height mode number column of the opening
for windows and doors. It is used to mark the vertical distance between the position
lines in horizontal, vertical directions of the opening for windows and doors. It is the
coordinating size BETWEEN the structural width and height of windows and doors
AND the structural width and height of opening. It is called as coordinating width (B),
coordinating height (A) of opening for windows and doors for short, in millimeters.
NOTE: The coordinating size between opening and frame of windows and doors is the nominal
size of the opening of the building wall. It is the nominal size that determines the size of the opening
and the size of the doors and windows.
3.2 width and height position lines of opening for windows and doors
The position line of width, height coordinating size of opening for windows and doors,
that is, the criterion to coordinate the position BETWEEN the doors and windows AND
the opening (see Figure 1, Figure 2).
3.3 width and height of structural reveal
The designed width and height of opening for windows and doors, that is, the net width
(B1) and the net height (A1) of opening.

4 Size system of opening for windows and doors in building
4.1 The size system of opening for doors in building shall meet the requirements of
Table 1.
4.2 The size system of opening for windows in building shall meet the requirements of
Table 2.
4.3 The priority size system of opening for doors in civilian building shall meet the
requirements of Table 3.
4.4 The priority size system of opening for windows in civilian building shall meet the
requirements of Table 4.
4.5 The coordinating width and height parameters of opening for non-rectangular
windows and doors shall be selected according to the coordinating width and height
parameters of opening for their external rectangle windows and doors [see Figure 1e)].
4.6 The specification model of the size system of opening for windows and doors in
building is expressed by the six-digit number formed by the thousands, hundreds, and
ten digits of coordinating width and height of opening for windows and doors, arranging
in the before-and-after order. If there is no thousand digits, it is represented by "0".
Example 1: When the coordinating width of the opening for doors is 900mm and the coordinating
height is 2100mm, its model shall be 090210.
Example 2: When the coordinating width of the opening for windows is 1200mm and the
coordinating height is 1500mm, its model shall be 120150.
5 Determination for width and height of structural reveal

5.1 The width and height of structural reveal AND width and height of windows and
doors shall be respectively based on the width and height position lines of opening for
windows and doors. They are determined according to installation form for doors and
windows (flat connection, slot connection, overlapping), installation method (dry
method, wet method) and structural gap for installing (see Figure 2).
NOTE: Dry method installation means that: Preset additional metal frame to wall opening for
in the same period with the window and wall [see Figure 2b)].
7 Requirements for selection
7.1 Architectural design
7.1.1 The principle of coordination shall be implemented during architectural design.
The basic specifications of the size system for opening for windows and doors in this
Standard shall prevail the auxiliary specifications. Reduce the number of specifications
in the same area and the same building.
7.1.2 During the design of the standard layer of the living building, the size for opening

if the specifications of this Standard cannot meet the needs, it can be determined in

in this Standard.
7.1.5 When the architectural design adopts the design of the door and window product
design, it shall be verified and confirmed that one of the installation forms, installation
methods, and size of structural gap for installing. Make necessary supplementary design
requirements.
7.1.6 When the architectural design needs to use a combination door and window, it is
advisable to use the strip window, shape window and window door of the basic doors
and windows.
7.2 Design of building doors and windows
7.2.1 When preparing the design documents for doors and windows, according to
factors such as the materials, performance, quality standards for the doors and windows,
select the size system of opening for windows and doors in this Standard. The
relationship BETWEEN the width and height of windows and doors AND the position
lines of opening for windows and doors, as well as the installation forms, methods of
various types of walls that can be adapted and the size of structural gap for installing,
