1 Scope

This Standard stipulates the terms, definitions, working conditions, technical requirements, various system performance requirements, safety requirements, equipment interconnection and interoperability requirements, equipment reliability requirements, equipment energy consumption requirements and environmental protection requirements for li-ion battery made machine. This Standard is applicable to the design, manufacture, inspection, acceptance inspection, use and maintenance of li-ion battery made machine.

NOTE: it includes electrode manufacturing machine, laminating machine and winding machine, etc. 3.6 Cell Assembly System Cell assembly system refers to the sum constituted of a series of equipment that complete cell molding from li-ion battery jelly roll. NOTE: it includes electrode connecting machine, punching machine, jelly roll casting machine, cover plate welding machine, sealing machine, and composite special- purpose equipment or production line constituted of the above processes and equipment. 3.7 Dry and Filling System Dry and filling system refers to the sum constituted of a series of equipment that dry finished jelly roll and complete the filling of electrolyte. NOTE: it includes jelly roll drying oven and filling machine, etc. 3.8 Formation and Grading System Formation and grading system refers to the sum constituted of a series of equipment that pre-charge, inspect and grade post-filling jelly roll, and determine the performance of jelly roll. NOTE: it includes activation equipment, jelly roll sorting machine and grading equipment, etc. 3.9 Battery Module Assembly System Battery module assembly system refers to the sum constituted of a series of equipment that conduct module assembly, PACK assembly and performance testing of post- formation and grading jelly roll. NOTE 1: it includes module assembly equipment, PACK assembly equipment, performance testing equipment and leakage testing equipment, etc. NOTE 2: PACK assembly is a generic term for the procedure of assembling single li-ion battery module through series-parallel connection into a whole during the li-ion manufacturing process and the procedure of installing the outer shell. 3.10 Battery Recovery System acceptance inspection should comply with the requirements in GB/T 23644-2009. 5.1.2 The equipment shall satisfy the principle of ergonomics; should comply with the requirements in GB/T 14776-1993. 5.1.3 Operation signs and indicating symbols should comply with the requirements in GB/T 3167-2015 and GB/T 3168-1993. 5.1.4 Plates shall comply with the requirements in GB/T 13306-2011. 5.1.5 Accompanying technical documents may refer to the requirements in JB/T 9875 and JB/T 9935. 5.1.6 The quality of equipment processing may refer to the requirements in JB/T 9872 and JB/T 9873. The quality of assembly may refer to the requirements in JB/T 9874. 5.1.7 The quality of appearance may refer to the requirements in GB/T 9061. 5.1.8 Inspection and acceptance inspection, idling test, load test and accuracy test may refer to the requirements in GB/T 9061. If there are special requirements, they shall be independently stipulated in specific equipment standards or user requirements. 5.2 Structural Requirements 5.2.1 The overall arrangement shall be reasonable; the operation shall be convenient; the appearance shall be attractive. It shall be convenient for maintenance and recycling. 5.2.2 It shall be convenient for movement, handling and transportation. 5.2.3 Fasteners should utilize standard components; the replacement of vulnerable parts shall be convenient. 5.2.4 Fastening parts shall not be loosened; the lubrication and cooling condition of moveable parts shall be satisfying. 5.2.5 The movement of moveable parts shall be flexible. The assembly of various components shall be firm and reliable. 5.3 Safety Protection Requirements 5.3.1 Protection in case of failure shall comply with the requirements in GB/T 5226.1. 5.3.2 Switch buttons shall be flexible; the signs shall be complete. The colors and identifiers of switch buttons shall comply with the requirements in GB/T 5226.1. 5.3.3 Indicator light with at least three colors (red, yellow and green) shall be allocated. The specific requirements shall comply with the requirements in GB/T 5226.1. 5.3.4 It shall be equipped with emergency stop processing function and shall comply comply with the requirements in GGB 50231. 5.5.2 The production capacity specified in technical documents is the maximum production capacity of the equipment under specified production conditions and within a certain period of time. The equipment’s long-term production capacity shall not be less than 80% of the maximum production capacity. 5.6 Maintenance Requirements 5.6.1 The use, care and maintenance shall comply with the stipulations in the equipment instruction manual. 5.6.2 Vulnerable parts and wear-out parts shall stipulate specific qualification indicator parameters; establish specifications on use and maintenance.

6 Various System Performance Requirements

6.1 Inspecting System 6.1.1 The accuracy of inspection equipment shall be an order of magnitude higher than the physical quantity being inspected. 6.1.2 The inspecting system shall satisfy the requirement of equipment digitization. 6.1.3 The inspecting system shall adapt to the requirements of lithium battery manufacturing environment; guarantee normal function under the manufacturing environment. 6.2 Slurry Preparation System 6.2.1 It shall be equipped with the function of guaranteeing stable viscosity, rheological properties, temperature and solid content of the output slurry. 6.2.2 During the slurry storage and transportation process, measures should be adopted to guarantee stable viscosity, rheological properties, temperature and solid content of slurry. 6.2.3 It shall be equipped with the function of accurate measurement of incoming materials. 6.2.4 It shall be equipped with the function of eliminating impurities in slurry. 6.2.5 Self-wear shall be reduced. In addition, it shall be guaranteed that the worn-out substances or the slurry after the elimination of impurities shall not affect the performance of li-ion battery. 6.3 Electrode Manufacturing System before filling; the function of monitoring moisture content in the cell. 6.6.2 It shall be equipped with the function of monitoring the humidity and dust of the filling environment. 6.6.3 It shall be equipped with the function of inspecting the weight of electrolyte that is filled into battery. 6.6.4 It shall be equipped with the function of monitoring the stability of the composition of electrolyte that is filled into cell before and after the filling. 6.7 Formation and Grading System 6.7.1 The accuracy and stability of output current and voltage shall satisfy the requirements of li-ion battery process. 6.7.2 It shall be equipped with the function of inspecting the equilibrium of ambient temperature. 6.7.3 It shall be equipped with the function of optimizing formation parameters. 6.8 Battery Module Assembly System 6.8.1 It shall be equipped with the function of inspecting and controlling battery module and battery pack connection result. In addition, it shall guarantee the reliability and stability of connection. 6.8.2 It shall be equipped with the function of inspecting parameters like electrical parameters and mechanical parameters of battery module and battery pack manufacturing process. In addition, it shall satisfy the requirements of inspection accuracy. 6.9 Battery Recovery System 6.9.1 The adopted disassembly, recovery and handling methods shall guarantee its own environmental protection requirements during the manufacturing process, so as to avoid causing new pollution to the environment. 6.9.2 Recycled materials shall be thoroughly recycled and handled, so as to prevent the wastes from causing severer pollution. 6.9.3 Technical indicators, such as: incoming material requirements, applicable range of incoming materials and properties of output materials, shall be explicit.

7 Safety Requirements

7.1 Standard Requirements for Safety 7.3.8 Electrical components and circuits that are installed on doors or covers shall guarantee the continuity; comply with the requirements in GB/T 5226.1. 7.3.9 The grounding of equipment case shall comply with the requirements in GB/T 5226.1. 7.3.10 The insulation resistance between equipment’s AC power circuit and case shall comply with the requirements in GB/T 5226.1; the insulation resistance shall not be less than 10 M. 7.3.11 The dielectric strength between equipment’s AC power circuit and adjacent non- charged conductor shall comply with the requirements in GB/T 5226.1. It shall be able to endure AC 50 Hz, 1,500 V, continuous 1 min of electrical strength test; there shall be no phenomena of punch-through. 7.3.12 Sensitive circuits in the equipment shall be separated from interference source. EMC wiring shall comply with the requirements in GB/T 5226.1. 7.3.13 Overcurrent protection shall comply with the requirements in GB/T 5226.1. 7.3.14 When electric machine’s rated power is more than 0.5 kW, there shall be overheating protection. Overheating protection shall comply with the requirements in GB/T 5226.1. 7.4 Li-ion Battery Safety Requirements for Equipment 7.4.1 General principle In the li-ion battery manufacturing system, in terms of factors that would affect li-ion battery manufacturing process, such as: moisture, dust, burrs, gas and harmful foreign matters and impurities, there should be inspection, display and tracking functions, and control measures. In addition, the efficiency of these functions and measures shall be guaranteed. 7.4.2 Burrs and dust control 7.4.2.1 During the equipment processing process, the generation of burrs or dust shall be avoided. 7.4.2.2 During the equipment processing process, the function of eliminating burrs or dust shall be equipped. 7.4.3 Moisture control 7.4.3.1 In terms of the adopted manufacturing methods and processes, except from procedure with special requirements, the others shall avoid the introduction of moisture. 7.4.3.2 In terms of moisture generated during the manufacturing process and might adopted materials and moveable parts.

8 Interconnection and Interoperability Requirements

8.1 Standard Requirements for Interconnection and Interoperability 8.1.1 Automation system and integration - industrial manufacturing management data should comply with the requirements in GB/T 19114 (all parts). 8.1.2 Automation system and integration - product data representation and exchange should comply with the requirements in GB/T 16656 (all parts). 8.1.3 Automation system and integration - parts library should comply with the requirements in GB/T 17645 (all parts). 8.1.4 Automation system and integration - manufacturing software capability profiling for interoperability should comply with the requirements in GB/T 19902 (all parts). 8.2 Requirements for Digitization 8.2.1 The design and manufacture of equipment should satisfy the requirements of digitized manufacture, which includes digitized reception of manufacturing instructions, digitized reception of incoming materials, digitized transmission and reception of product data, digitization of equipment itself, digitization of product quality and production capacity. See the specific functions below: a) Digitization of manufacturing instructions refers to digitized representation of manufacturing information, such as: production order, quantity, process, bill of materials (BOM) and engineering proposals, etc.; b) Digitization of incoming materials refers to digitized representation of material parameters, including digitized representation of the quantity of incoming materials, digitized representation of the quality of incoming materials and digitized representation of the status of incoming materials; it requests the equipment to be equipped with the function of receiving the above-mentioned manufacturing instructions; c) Product digitization is mapping representation of product’s characteristic information in the digital space. Such characteristic information can be identified and interacted by the equipment; d) Equipment digitization includes equipment production process information (temperature, pressure, tension and speed, etc.), equipment components’ health status, digitized information (built-in maintenance cycle, etc.) of equipment maintenance, provided descriptions of equipment power on/off signals, alarm signals and equipment working status information in the digital shall comply with the requirements in GB 30439 (all parts) and GB/T 18336 (all parts). 8.3.2 Corresponding communication network interface protocols and data interface specifications shall be set up among various systems and equipment. 8.3.3 Hardware and software interface should satisfy the requirement of implementing interconnection and interoperability with the manufacturing system. 8.3.4 Establish standardized information model, so as to satisfy the manufacturing system’s requirements of managing and monitoring production process data, production quality data, failure message and production capacity data, etc. 8.3.5 The operation, control and monitoring should satisfy the requirement of remote functions. 8.3.6 In terms of each type of equipment, network and data interface shall be specified in the standards of each type of equipment.

9 Reliability Requirements

9.1 Standard Requirements for Reliability 9.1.1 Terms of reliability and maintainability shall comply with the requirements in GB/T 9414.2-2012. 9.1.2 Reliability analysis technique failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) procedure shall comply with the requirements in GB/T 7826-2012. 9.1.3 Software system and software reliability shall comply with the requirements in GB/T 29832 (all parts). 9.1.4 Reliability technique review procedure for automatization control system shall comply with the requirements in GB/T 30093. 9.1.5 Reliability design shall comply with the requirements in GB/T 29545-2013. 9.2 Overall Requirements for Reliability 9.2.1 Equipment design shall set up necessary indicators for the reliability of the delivered equipment. 9.2.2 The basic process, method, review content and procedure of reliability design may take the requirements in GB/T 30093 as a reference. 9.2.3 The reliability evaluation of software control system may take the requirements in GB/T 29832 (all parts) as a reference. ......
