1 Scope
This Standard specifies the basic requirements for selection principles and settings of
safety accessories and instrument for pressure equipment such as pressure vessels,
industrial pipelines, etc.
This Standard is applicable to the safety accessories and instruments such as pressure
relief devices, emergency shutoff devices, etc. for the pressure equipment like
pressure vessels, industrial pipelines, etc.
This Standard is not applicable to the following pressure equipment:
--- Boiler, gas cylinder, oxygen chamber, non-metallic pressure equipment;
--- Pressure equipment of military equipment and nuclear facilities;
--- Aerospace vehicles, railway locomotives, offshore installations, and pressure
equipment for ship and underground in mines.
2 Normative References
The following documents are essential to the application of this document. For the
dated documents, only the versions with the dates indicated are applicable to this
document; for the undated documents, only the latest version (including all the
amendments) are applicable to this document.

instruments shall meet the requirements of relevant safety technical specifications.
4.3 The type test items specified in safety technical specifications and product
standards shall be conducted type test by the inspection agency approved by the
special equipment safety supervision and management department; and obtain the
type test report and certificate.
4.4 When leaving the factory, the safety accessories and instruments shall be provided
with quality certificate documents; and shall be identified or marked on the obvious
part of the products.
4.5 The pressure parts of safety accessories and instrument shall meet the
requirements for the use of the pressure equipment. The materials that may come into
contact with the fluid medium shall be considered for compatibility with the medium.
4.6 Safety accessories and instruments can be connected the pressure equipment by
thread, welding or flange. The joints shall be safe and reliable; and have good sealing
performance.
4.7 For the safety accessories and the instruments with electrical control components,
the protection level and explosion-proof requirements of electrical components shall
conform to the provisions of relevant standards.
4.8 The accuracy and range of the instruments shall meet the requirements for use;
and the instruments that need to be verified shall obtain the qualified and valid
verification certificate.
5 Selection Principles
5.1 The selection of safety accessories and instruments shall conform to the provisions
of safety technical specifications such as TSG21, TSG D0001, TSG R0005 and related
standards.
5.2 When selecting safety accessories and instruments, at least the following factors
shall be considered:
a) Type and working conditions for use of pressure equipment;
b) Type, toxicity and hazardous properties of the carrier medium;
c) Failure mode of the pressure equipment;
d) Failure mode of safety accessories and instruments.
