General rules for evaluation of nucleic acid extraction and purification methods
1 Scope
This standard specifies the index parameters and evaluation methods for the evaluation of nucleic acid extraction and purification methods.
This standard applies to the extraction of nucleic acids (genomic DNA and total RNA) from conventional samples (fresh samples) in molecular biology laboratories.
General evaluation of the purification method.
This standard does not apply to the extraction of viral nucleic acids, the extraction of free DNA, old samples, trace samples and highly degraded sample nucleic acids.
The evaluation of the extraction method is also not applicable to the nucleic acid extractor which increases the extraction efficiency by adding exogenous DNA or RNA during the extraction process.
