1 Scope

This Standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and designation, technical requirements, test and detection, marking, and packaging of pressurized alkaline water electrolysis system for hydrogen production and proton exchange membrane (PEM) water electrolysis system for hydrogen production. This Standard applies to pressurized alkaline water electrolysis and pressurized PEM water electrolysis systems for hydrogen production, whose working pressure is greater than or equal to 0.3 MPa and less than or equal to 5.0 MPa.

3 Terms and definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 19774 and GB/T 24499 and the following ones apply to this document. 3.1 Pressure The force acting vertically on a unit surface area of a vessel. In this Standard, unless otherwise noted, pressure refers to gauge pressure. 3.2 Pressurized water electrolysis system for hydrogen production A water electrolysis system for hydrogen production composed of a water electrolyzer with a specified pressure and its auxiliary equipment, pipelines and accessories, and enclosure, etc. 3.3 Alkaline water electrolysis system for hydrogen production A water electrolysis system for hydrogen production composed of alkaline water electrolyzer and its auxiliary equipment, pipelines and accessories, and enclosure, etc. 3.4 Proton exchange membrane water electrolysis system for hydrogen production A water electrolysis system for hydrogen production composed of a PEM water electrolyzer and its auxiliary equipment, pipelines and accessories, and enclosure, etc. 3.5 Enclosure An equipment locker that separates, protects and supports the electrical system and the process system in the hydrogen production system. 3.6 Purge Use nitrogen or oil-free dry air to blow off the dust, particles and flammable liquid generated in the system during equipment processing.

4 Classification and designation

4.1 Pressurized alkaline water electrolysis system for hydrogen production The product designation of the pressurized alkaline water electrolysis system for hydrogen production shall be composed of uppercase Chinese pinyin letters and Arabic numerals. The development method shall meet the following requirements. 4.2 Pressurized PEM water electrolysis system for hydrogen production The product designation of the pressurized PEM water electrolysis system for hydrogen production shall be composed of uppercase Chinese pinyin letters and Arabic numerals.

5 Technical requirements

5.1 Pressurized water electrolysis system for hydrogen production 5.1.1 General requirements Refer to Appendix A for the block diagrams of typical alkaline water electrolysis system for hydrogen production and PEM water electrolysis system for hydrogen production. 5.1.2 Working conditions 5.1.2.1 The working environment of the hydrogen production system shall be clean and well ventilated. The working environment temperature should be 5 °C~45 °C. 5.2 Single equipment 5.2.1 General requirements 5.2.1.1 The single equipment of the water electrolysis system for hydrogen production shall be determined according to the type, scale, and functional requirements, etc. 5.2.2 Water electrolyzer 5.2.2.1 The water electrolyzer is the main equipment of the water electrolysis system for hydrogen production. Its performance parameters will determine the technical performance of the water electrolysis hydrogen production. The performance parameters and structural design of the water electrolyzer shall be based on the basic requirements of reducing the power consumption per unit of hydrogen, reducing the manufacturing cost, and extending the service life. The structural form of the water electrolyzer, the structure, coating and material of the electrolysis cell and diaphragm shall be selected reasonably. 5.2.4 Enclosure 5.2.4.1 The electrical compartment in the enclosure shall always maintain a positive pressure of not less than 5 Pa relative to the atmosphere. And according to the positive pressure inside the enclosure and the volume of the enclosure, the exhaust volume shall be determined. 5.2.4.2 The electrical compartment and the hydrogen production compartment shall be separated by a partition without pores or holes. When perforation is necessary, a hole shall be opened at the bottom of the enclosure. 5.2.4.3 The enclosure shall be determined according to the scale and functional requirements. And it shall meet the following requirements. 5.2.5 Hydrogen tank 5.2.5.1 According to the characteristics of hydrogen use and users' requirements for hydrogen, the hydrogen production system shall be equipped with corresponding hydrogen tanks. 5.2.5.2 The storage capacity of the hydrogen tank shall be determined according to parameters such as hydrogen production, characteristics of hydrogen used, and hydrogen pressure. 5.2.6 Oxygen tank 5.5 Automatic control and monitoring 5.5.1 General requirements The hardware and software used in the automatic control and monitoring of the water electrolysis system for hydrogen production shall be able to operate normally under the design conditions. And it can promptly alarm and stop when the hydrogen production system fails; and carry out corresponding emergency treatment. 5.5.2 Automatic control and monitoring devices 5.5.2.1 Temperature sensor The alkaline water electrolysis system for hydrogen production shall be equipped with temperature sensors in the following locations. The temperature detection point of the electrolyzer shall be set on the hydrogen and oxygen outlet pipelines of the electrolyzer. The lye temperature detection point shall be set on the lye outlet pipeline of the lye cooler. The PEM water electrolysis system for hydrogen production shall be equipped with temperature sensors in the following locations. The temperature detection point of the electrolyzer shall be set on the hydrogen and oxygen outlet pipelines of the electrolyzer. The pure water temperature detection point shall be set on the pipeline of the pure water outlet.

6 Test and detection

6.1 Test conditions 6.1.1 General requirements 6.1.2 Test preparation When testing, the entire hydrogen production system shall be assembled according to the manufacturer's instructions. It shall be ensured that the working conditions of the system equipment in the test and detection are the same as the real working conditions. 6.1.3 Test working conditions Unless otherwise specified, during test and detection, the entire hydrogen production system shall be in design conditions. 6.1.4 Test conditions The test and detection shall be carried out in the following environment. 6.2 Test 6.2.1 Electrical test 6.2.1.1 Loop impedance test The impedance measurement test of the fault loop shall be verified in accordance with the loop impedance test of GB/T 16895.23. 6.2.1.2 Voltage test 6.3 Detection 6.3.1 Preparation before detection 6.3.1.1 The hydrogen pipeline of the water electrolysis system for hydrogen production shall be purged and replaced. After the purging and replacement, the oxygen content in the system shall be less than 0.5%. 6.3.2 Performance parameter detection 6.3.2.1 The detection of hydrogen production shall meet the following requirements.

7 Marking

7.1 The marking making and installation location of the water electrolysis system for hydrogen production and its single equipment shall comply with GB/T 13306. 7.2 The content of the marking shall be concise and clear, showing the main performance parameters, indexes and requirements. The marking shall be fixed in a conspicuous location that is easy to observe. 7.3 Each water electrolysis system for hydrogen production shall have a signboard. The main single equipment shall, according to the needs, be provided with signboards respectively. The signboard of the water electrolysis system for hydrogen production shall include the following contents.

8 Product accompanying documents

8.1 Handling and hoisting instructions 8.1.1 The manufacturer shall provide instructions for the safe handling and hoisting of various single equipment and components of the hydrogen production system. If necessary, the method of hoisting and handling shall be illustrated with drawings. 8.1.2 Handling and hoisting instructions shall determine the center of gravity of the hydrogen production system, to facilitate the handling of cranes and forklifts. 8.2 System and equipment drawings 8.2.1 The manufacturer shall provide drawings of various system processes, equipment structure and electrical automatic control, which are required in the installation, operation and maintenance of the water electrolysis system for hydrogen production. 8.2.2 The drawings to be provided by the manufacturer shall include but not limited to the following. 8.3 Instruction manual 8.3.1 The instruction manual shall be provided by the manufacturer and include the following. 8.3.2 If the hydrogen production system is equipped with a remote monitoring system, the manufacturer shall provide the program for the use of this remote monitoring system and how to change the program. 8.3.3 If necessary, the remote monitoring system program provided by the manufacturer must at least solve the following problems. 8.4 Installation and maintenance manual 8.4.1 The manufacturer shall provide installation and maintenance requirements and guidelines. The on-site layout and design of the water electrolysis system for hydrogen production shall follow the regulations of GB 50177. 8.4.4 The installation and maintenance manual requires periodic inspections of the hydrogen production system, which shall be carried out by professionals. 8.4.5 The installation and maintenance manual shall also give a detailed introduction to the maintenance of the hydrogen production system used in the graded zone. 8.4.6 The installation and maintenance manual shall contain the corresponding safety technical requirements. The content shall comply with the regulations in GB/T 37563.

9 Packaging

9.1 The packaging of the water electrolysis system for hydrogen production shall meet the requirements of GB/T 13384.And pack it according to the number, item name and pcs of the packing list. 9.2 The packaging and transportation of pressure vessels shall comply with the regulations of JB/T 4711. 9.3 When the product leaves the factory, the alkaline water electrolysis system for hydrogen production shall be protected by nitrogen filling. The nitrogen filling pressure shall be ≥0.05 MPa. 9.5 The packaging of export products shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 19142.The wood packaging materials shall be quarantined in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 28060. ......
