This document serves as a replacement of GB/T 34590.8-2017 Road vehicles - Functional
safety - Part 8.Supporting processes. In comparison with GB/T 34590.8-2017, apart from
structural adjustments and editorial modifications, the main technical changes are as follows.
-- Change the scope of application from “series production passenger cars” to “series
production road vehicles, excluding mopeds” (see Clause 1; Clause 1 of the 2017
edition);
-- Add adaptation for motorcycles (see 4.5);
-- Add adaptation for trucks, buses, trailers and semi-trailers (see 4.6);

The technical differences between this document and ISO 26262-8.2018, and the causes for
these differences are as follows.
-- Use the normative reference GB/T 34590.1-2022 to replace ISO 26262-1 (see Clause 3;
Clause 3 of ISO 26262-8), to adapt to the technical conditions in China;
-- Change the description of T&B vehicles from “trucks, buses, trailers and semi-trailers”
to “goods vehicles, buses, special automobiles, trailers” (see 4.6; 4.6 of ISO 26262-
8.2018), to be consistent with the vehicle types specified in GB/T 3730.1-2022 Terms
and definitions of motor vehicles, trailers and combination vehicle - Part 1.Types;
This document also makes the following editorial modifications.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 34590.1-
2022 apply.
4 Requirements
Tables are normative or informative depending on their context. The different methods
listed in a table contribute to the level of confidence in achieving compliance with the
corresponding requirement.
For items or elements of motorcycles for which requirements of GB/T 34590.12-2022
are applicable, the requirements of GB/T 34590.12-2022 supersede the corresponding
requirements of this document and GB/T 34590.2-2022.
5 Interfaces within distributed developments
See applicable prerequisites of the relevant phases of the safety lifecycle for which a
distributed development is planned and carried out.
6 Specification and management of safety requirements
The management of safety requirements includes obtaining agreement on them,
obtaining commitments from those implementing the safety requirements, and
maintaining traceability.
7 Configuration management
Configuration management is a well-established practice within the automotive
industry and can be applied according to e.g. ISO 10007, Automotive SPICE®1, the
ISO/IEC 33000 series of standards, ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, and ISO/IEC/IEEE 12207.

8 Change management
The work products, items and elements to be subject to change management
shall be identified in the change management plan and shall include those work
products, items and elements required in 7.4.3.
