Dimension of Traction Battery for Electric Vehicles 1 Scope This Standard specifies the specification dimensions of single-cell, module and standard case of traction battery for electric vehicles (hereinafter referred to as battery). This Standard is applicable to the lithium-ion battery and metal hydride nickel battery mounted on the electric vehicles; other type of batteries can be implemented as per this Standard. 2 Normative References The following documents are essential to the application of this document. GB/T 1804 General Tolerances – Tolerances for Linear and Angular Dimensions without Individual Tolerance Indications GB/T 2900.41 Electrotechnical Terminology – Primary and Secondary Cells and Batteries GB/T 19596 Terminology of Electric Vehicles 3 Terms and Definitions The following terms and definitions and those ones stipulated in GB/T 2900.41 and GB/T 19596 are applicable to this document. 3.1 Cylindrical cell The battery with cylindrical battery hull and connecting element (electrode). 3.2 Prismatic cell The battery wit rectangular battery hull and connecting element (electrode). 3.3 Pouch cell The battery with composite file make of battery hull and connecting element (electrode). 3.4 Secondary cell The basic unit device converting the chemical energy into electrical energy; generally, it includes electrodes, diaphragms, electrolytes, hulls, terminals; and is designed to be rechargeable. Also known as battery core. 3.5 Battery module Combine more than one secondary cells in the series connection, parallel connection, and series-parallel connection modes; the combination working as the power supply. Also known as battery pack. 3.6 Standard battery case Used in the electric vehicles, usually include battery module, battery management module (excluding the battery control unit), battery case and the energy storage device of corresponding accessories; can apply in different entire-vehicle type through different combination modes. 4 General Requirements for Specification Dimension of Battery Products 4.1 Dimensional tolerance requirements Each dimension of secondary cell specified in this Standard shall, as per the limit deviation of linear size specified in GB/T 1804, select tolerance level with precision of m. 4.2 Dimensional range requirements To unify the battery specification and dimension, the dimension range is given in Table 1. The secondary cell, battery module and standard battery case (see Appendix A) within the same range belongs to the products with the same specification. ......
