This Standard applies to laboratory centrifuges (hereinafter referred to as centrifuges) whose rated maximum speed is not more than 30 000 r/min. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies. GB/T 191-2008, Packaging - Pictorial Marking for Handling of Goods GB/T 2829-2002, Sampling procedures and tables for periodic inspection by attributes (Apply to inspection of process stability) GB/T 3768, Acoustics - Determination of sound power levels and sound energy levels of noise sources using sound pressure - Survey method using an enveloping measurement surface over a reflecting plane GB 4793.1-2007, Safety requirements for electrical equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use - Part 1: General requirements GB 4793.7-2008, Safety requirements for electrical equipment for measurement control and laboratory use - Part 7: Particular requirements for laboratory centrifuges GB/T 14710, Environmental requirement and test methods for medical electrical equipment 3 Terms and definitions The following terms and definitions are applicable to this document. 3.1 Laboratory centrifuge 4 Product classification 4.1 Centrifuges are classified into bench-top centrifuges and floor type centrifuges according to their structure. 4.2 Centrifuges are classified into low speed centrifuges, high speed centrifuges and super speed centrifuges according to the rotational speed. 4.3 Centrifuges are classified into refrigerated centrifuges and non-refrigerated centrifuges according to their functions. 5 Conditions of use 5.1 Environmental conditions The centrifuge shall be used under the following environmental conditions: a) indoor; b) temperature 5 °C ~ 35 °C; c) relative humidity not more than 80%; d) atmospheric pressure 86 kPa ~ 106 kPa; e) no direct sunlight, nor direct radiation from other heat sources; f) pollution level 2, no conductive dust, explosive gas, high-concentration dust or corrosive substances around; g) no strong vibration or airflow around. 5.2 Power supply conditions The power supply for the centrifuge shall meet the following conditions: a) rated voltage AC 220 V or 380 V, with the allowable deviation of -10% ~ +10% from the rated value; b) rated frequency 50 Hz, with the allowable deviation of ±2% from the rated value. 6 Requirements 6.1 Appearance 6.1.1 The surface of the centrifuge shall be flat; characters and signs shall be clear. 6.1.2 The coating layer of the centrifuge shall be uniform in color, without bottom exposure, peeling, blistering, burrs, spots and obvious scratches. 6.2 Weight deviation of rotating components The nominal weight of centrifuge tubes (bottles), centrifuge cups, and rubber gaskets in each group shall be equal, and the deviation of the actual weight shall not be greater than ±2 g. 6.3 Relative deviation of rotational speed Under the rated voltage and the maximum load corresponding to the maximum speed of the centrifuge, the maximum relative deviation of speed of the low speed centrifuge is ±2.5%, and the maximum relative deviation of speed of the high speed centrifuge is ±1%. 6.4 Speed stability Under the rated voltage and the maximum load corresponding to the maximum speed of the centrifuge, the instability of speed shall not be greater than 1%. 6.5 Noise 6.5.1 For the noise emitted by the centrifuge under the rated voltage and the maximum load corresponding to the maximum speed, the A-weighted emission sound pressure level LpA at the operator (or observer) position and at a distance of 1 m from the surface of the centrifuge shall not be greater than 70 dB (where the reference sound pressure is 20 μPa). If it exceeds, the manufacturer shall specify in its technical documentation the protective measures to be taken by the responsible department using the equipment. 6.5.2 The A-weighted sound power level LWA (where the reference sound power is 1 pW) of the noise emitted by the centrifuge should be specified in the manufacturer’s technical documentation. 6.6 Temperature rise The temperature rise of the test solution in the centrifuge tube (bottle) shall not exceed 12 °C after the non-refrigerated centrifuge runs for 15 minutes under the rated voltage and the maximum load corresponding to the maximum speed. 6.7 Time for speed raising and reduction The time for speed raising and reduction of the centrifuge are shown in Table 1. The centrifuge shall be provided with the door cover self-locking function. When the door cover is opened, the centrifuge cannot be started; when the door cover is closed, and the centrifuge is running, the door cover cannot be opened; in the event of a power failure, there shall be an emergency unlocking device and only special tools can be used to open the door cover. 6.10 Environmental adaptability Under the condition where the centrifuge is well packaged, carry out the environmental test according to the provisions of GB/T 14710. After the test, open the package for testing, where the results shall meet the requirements of 6.3 ~ 6.9. 7 Test methods 7.1 Main test instruments and equipment Names and requirements of the main test instruments and equipment are as follows: a) balance, with the calibration division value of 1 g; b) speedometer, with an accuracy of 0.1%; c) spot-thermometer, with the maximum allowable error of ±0.5 °C; d) electronic stopwatch, with the maximum allowable error of ±1 s; e) 2-level sound level meter. 7.2 Test conditions The test conditions of the centrifuge shall meet the following requirements: a) The ambient temperature is 20 °C ± 5 °C; b) The relative humidity is not more than 80%; c) AC power supply: The rated voltage is 220 V or 380 V, with a tolerance of ±1%; the rated frequency is 50 Hz, with a tolerance of ±1%; the harmonic distortion is less than 5%; d) There is no direct sunlight, nor direct radiation from other heat sources; e) The pollution level is 2; there is no conductive dust, explosive gas, high- concentration dust or corrosive substances around; f) There is no strong vibration or airflow around. 7.3 Appearance inspection 7.7 Noise test 7.7.1 The measurement method of the A-weighted sound pressure level of the noise emitted by the centrifuge is as follows: a) Place the centrifuge on a hard reflective surface (such as the floor or bench-top); fix it in the manner specified by the manufacturer. The distance between the wall or any other reflector and the centrifuge surface shall not be less than 3 m; b) The measurement shall be carried out at four positions at the front, rear, left and right sides of the centrifuge, with a height of 1.55 m ± 0.075 m above the ground; the microphone of the sound level meter shall face the centrifuge; c) Before starting the centrifuge, measure and record the indication of the A- weighted sound pressure level of the background noise at the four positions described in b); d) Set the centrifuge to the working condition that generates the maximum noise; start the centrifuge; after reaching the set speed for 1 min, measure and record the A-weighted sound pressure level of the noise emitted by the centrifuge at the four positions described in b); e) For the difference BETWEEN the indication of the A-weighted sound pressure level of the noise – emitted by the centrifuge – measured at each location AND the A-weighted sound pressure level of the background noise, if it is less than 3 dB, the measurement result is invalid; if it is greater than 10 dB, no correction is required (where the background noise correction value K1 = 0); if it is between 3 dB and 10 dB, the background noise correction value at each measurement position shall be calculated according to Formula (3): Where: K1 – background noise correction value, in decibels (dB); ΔL – the difference between the indication of noise emitted and the A-weighted sound pressure level of the background noise, in decibels (dB). f) Obtain the A-weighted sound pressure level of the noise emitted by the centrifuge by subtracting the corresponding correction value of the background noise from the indication of the A-weighted sound pressure level of the noise emitted, which is measured at each measurement position; the result shall meet the requirements of 6.5.1. 7.7.2 The A-weighted sound power level of the noise emitted by the centrifuge shall be measured according to the method specified in GB/T 3768, and the result shall meet the requirements of 6.5.2. 7.8 Temperature rise test Put the test solution into the centrifuge tube (bottle); use a spot-thermometer to measure the temperature of the test solution; run the centrifuge at the maximum speed for 15 minutes; then, use the spot-thermometer to measure the temperature of the test solution again within 1 minute after stopping; calculate the difference between the two measured values, which shall meet the requirements of 6.6. 7.9 Test of time for speed raising and reduction 7.9.1 Install the tested full-loaded rotor that can rise to the maximum speed of the machine. 7.9.2 Preselect the maximum speed of the centrifuge. 7.9.3 Start the centrifuge and measure the time required for the rotor to rise from zero to the maximum speed. The results shall meet the requirements in Table 1. 7.9.4 When the rotor of the centrifuge is at the maximum speed, press the stop button to measure the time required for the rotor to drop from the maximum speed to zero; the results shall meet the requirements in Table 1. 7.10 Refrigeration test 7.10.1 Refrigerating time test Install a fully-loaded rotor that can rise to the maximum speed; set the maximum speed; set the temperature to 20 °C. Start the centrifuge and the refrigeration system. When the maximum speed and temperature are reached and stabilized for 10 minutes, set the temperature to 0 °C; at the same time, count the time for the temperature to drop to 4 °C. The results shall meet the requirements of 6.8.2. 7.10.2 Temperature deviation test First, use the spot-thermometer and the temperature sensing element in the centrifuge chamber to calibrate at 5 °C, 10 °C and 15 °C, respectively. Adjust the centrifuge – which is equipped with a fully-loaded rotor – to the maximum speed; set the centrifuge chamber temperature to 5 °C, 10 °C and 15 °C, respectively. Under each setting condition, when the temperature display readings reach the set values, start the reading after 5 minutes of stability; continuously read the maximum and minimum data of the point-thermometer 5 times each; calculate the difference between the maximum value or the minimum value and the set value among the 10 temperature values of each grade; the results shall meet the requirements of 6.8.3. 7.11 Safety test 7.11.1 Leakage current test Carry out the test according to the provisions of 6.3 in GB 4793.1-2007. 7.11.2 Dielectric strength test Carry out the test according to the provisions of 6.8 in GB 4793.1-2007. 7.11.3 Test of protective connection impedance of the plug-connected equipment Carry out the test according to the provisions of 6.5.1.3 in GB 4793.1-2007. 7.11.4 Unbalance protection test Simulate unbalance; check whether the unbalance device is effective; the result shall meet the requirements of 6.9.4. 7.11.5 Door cover self-locking test Open the centrifuge door cover; start the centrifuge; check whether the motor is running; close the door cover, start the centrifuge, and check whether the door cover can be opened. Disconnect the power supply and use special tools to check whether the emergency unlocking device can be unlocked. The result shall meet the requirements of 6.9.5. 7.12 Environmental adaptability test The environmental reliability test shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 14710, and the results shall meet the requirements of 6.10. 8 Inspection rules 8.1 Inspection classification The inspection of the centrifuge is divided into: a) exit-factory inspection; b) type inspection; c) periodic inspection. 8.2 Inspection items See Table 2 for the items, and article number of requirements and test methods of the exit-factory inspection, type inspection and periodic inspection. a) name of the manufacturer; b) product name and model; c) rated voltage and rated frequency of the power supply; d) rated input power; e) product number; f) date of manufacture; g) maximum speed; h) maximum capacity. 9.2 Others The body shall be provided with obvious grounding signs. 10 Packaging, transportation and storage 10.1 Packaging 10.1.1 The marking of the packing box shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 191- 2008. 10.1.2 The packing box shall be firm and reliable. 10.1.3 The packing box shall be rain-proof and moisture-proof. 10.1.4 The accessories and technical documents of the centrifuge shall be fastened in the packing box. The main documents provided with the centrifuge include: a) product conformity certificate; b) product instruction manual; c) warranty; d) packing list. 10.2 Transportation The centrifuge is allowed to be transported by ordinary means of transportation under the condition of complete packaging. Severe vibration, rain and sun exposure shall be prevented during transportation. 10.3 Storage ......
