Spring loaded safety valve for cryogenic service
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the terms and definitions, structural form and structural
length, technical requirements, inspection methods, inspection rules, signs,
protection, packaging, transportation, and storage of spring loaded safety valve
for cryogenic service (hereinafter referred to as "safety valve").
This Standard applies to safety valves for cryogenic gas service, of which the
nominal pressure is PN16 ~ PN100; the nominal size is DN15 ~ DN200; the
temperature is not less than -196 °C; the minimum set pressure is 0.1 MPa.

4.2 Structural length
The structural length of the safety valve is in accordance with the provisions of
JB/T 2203.
5 Technical requirements
5.1 General requirements
In addition to meeting the requirements of this Standard, safety valves shall
also meet the requirements of GB/T 12241 and GB/T 12243. If these standards
differ from the requirements of this Standard, this Standard shall prevail.
5.2 Structure and design
5.2.1 Design temperature
The safety valve shall work normally between the required minimum operating
temperature and +65 °C.
5.2.2 Drain
Regardless of the outlet connection, the design or installation of the safety valve
shall avoid the accumulation of liquid in the valve.
5.2.3 Guide device
The guide device shall be designed to avoid malfunctions due to the deposition
and condensation of humid gases in the valve in the normal operation of the
valve. The guide device of the valve shall be reliable and shall not be affected
by normal handling.
5.2.4 Valve body
The safety valve shall be designed to avoid the accumulation of solid
substances in the valve body or the outlet, which will cause the valve to
5.3.2.1 Cryogenic steel castings are in accordance with JB/T 7248; copper alloy
castings are in accordance with GB/T 12225; austenitic stainless steel castings
are in accordance with GB/T 12230. The visual quality of steel castings is in
accordance with the provisions of JB/T 7927.
5.3.2.2 The cryogenic impact value shall meet the requirements of JB/T 7248.
5.3.2.3 When the working medium is oxygen or has oxidizing properties, the
safety valve material shall have compatibility with oxygen.
5.3.2.4 If the mixed medium contain acetylene, the copper content in the
metallic material shall not exceed 70%.
5.3.3 Non-metallic materials
5.3.3.1 Non-metallic materials shall meet the minimum operating temperature
requirements, be able to pass normal and low temperature tests, and have
compatibility with oxygen.
5.3.3.2 Non-metallic materials are generally used at the valve flap or valve seat,
so as to enhance the tightness when the valve is closed.
5.4 Non-destructive testing
Non-destructive testing shall be in accordance with the provisions of JB/T 7248
and meet the corresponding requirements.
5.5 Degreasing
Before assembly, all parts shall be cleaned, and degreased if necessary.
5.6 Performance
5.6.1 Valve body strength
The safety valve shall ensure normal work under operating conditions; no
harmful deformation shall occur under the valve body strength test and
operating conditions.
5.6.2 Motion performance
The set pressure deviation, discharge pressure, opening height, opening and
closing pressure difference of the safety valve shall meet the requirements of
GB/T 12243.
5.6.3 Sealing performance
The sealing performance of the safety valve shall meet the requirements of
GB/T 12243.
each specification of valves for sampling is 10; the number of samples is 2.
When the user samples, the number of samples for sampling is not limited; the
number of samples is still 2.
8 Signs, protection, packaging, transportation and
storage
8.1 Signs
8.1.1 A permanent nameplate shall be fixed at the obvious position of the safety
valve; the nameplate shall be made of corrosion-resistant materials; the
nameplate or the outer surface of the safety valve shall have the following
contents:
a) safety valve manufacturing license number and sign;
b) name of the manufacture company;
c) safety valve type;
d) the date of manufacture and its product number;
e) nominal pressure;
f) nominal size;
g) flow diameter or flow area;
h) set pressure;
i) valve body material;
j) minimum operating temperature;
k) rated displacement factor or rated capacity that is guaranteed for a certain
fluid.
8.1.2 The product number shall be a permanent sign on the valve body.
8.2 Protection
Safety valves that pass the inspection are equipped with protective covers at
the inlet and outlet and are sealed.
8.3 Packaging
