Foreword
This Standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Standard is modified from ISO 23278.2006 ”Non-destructive testing of welds --
Magnetic particle testing of welds -- Acceptance levels” by redrafting method.
The technical differences between this Standard and ISO 23278.2006 and the
reasons are as follows.
-- For normative references, this standard has made technical adjustments to suit
the technical conditions of our country, which are reflected in Chapter 2, "Normative
references”. The details are.
Replace EN 1330-7 by GB/T 12604.5 (see Chapter 3);
Replace ISO/TS 18173 by GB/T 20737 with equivalent international standards
(see Chapter 3);
Replace ISO 17638 by GB/T 26951, which adopts modified international
standards (see Chapter 1);
Removed ISO 5817;
Removed ISO 17635;
Removed EN 1330-2.
This Standard was proposed by and shall be under the jurisdiction of the National
Welding Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC 55).

Non-destructive testing of welds -
Magnetic particle testing of welds - Acceptance levels
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the acceptance levels of magnetic particle test indication for
deficiencies in ferromagnetic steel welds.
This acceptance levels are mainly used for manufacturing inspection and, if deemed
appropriate, for in-service inspection.
The acceptance levels in this standard is based on the test capability expected to be
achieved as per the method specified in GB/T 26951 and the parameters
recommended in Appendix A. Acceptance levels are related to welding standards,
application criteria, technical conditions and regulations. More information about the
indicated acceptance levels can be found in the product or application criteria.
