Foreword
This Standard was drafted as per the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Standard replaced GB/T 24238-2009 Hot Rolled Wire Rod for Prestressed Steel
Wire and Strand; compared with GB/T 24238-2009, this Standard has the major
technical changes as follows besides the editorial modification.
--- Expand the specification range of wire rod;
--- Cancel four grades of YL72A, YL77A, YL82A, YL87A;
--- Elaborate the sorbate content of each grade;
--- Confirm allowable level requirements for mesh cementite and center martensite;
--- Modify the mechanical properties;
--- Enhance the requirements for decarburization depth.
This Standard was proposed by China Iron and Steel Industry Association.
This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee for
Standardization of Steel (SAC/TC 183).

1 Scope
This Standard specifies the grade, ordering content, dimension, shape, weight and
permissible deviation, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, package,
marking and quality certificate of wire rod for prestressed steel wire and strand.
This Standard is applicable to the hot-rolled wire rod for prestressed steel wire and
strand (hereinafter referred to as wire rod).
