1 Scope
This Document specifies the overall requirements, technical requirements, test methods,
random documents, product nameplates, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of
amusement rides bumper car.
This Document applies to the design, manufacturing, installation, modification, maintenance,
testing, inspection and use management of amusement rides bumper car.

The provisions in following documents become the essential provisions of this Document
through reference in this Document. For the dated documents, only the versions with the dates
indicated are applicable to this Document; for the undated documents, only the latest version

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this Document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 20306 and the
following apply.
3.1 Pole-mounted bumper car
A bumper car that is fed by sliding (or rolling) contact between electrical components and the
sky-net, driven by electrical energy, and runs in a fixed parking lot.
3.2 Floor feeding bumper car
A bumper car that is fed by sliding (or rolling) contact between electrical components and the
floor, driven by electrical energy, and runs in a fixed parking lot.
3.3 Accumulator feeding bumper car
A bumper car that uses its own energy storage unit to provide power and runs in a fixed parking
lot.
3.4 Energy storage unit
The minimum energy storage system that consists of a battery pack, a battery management
system and a power conversion system connected to it.
4 General Requirements
4.1 The design, manufacturing, installation, modification, repair, testing and inspection, random
documents and complete product nameplates of amusement rides bumper car shall meet the
relevant requirements of GB 8408 and this Document.
4.2 Risk assessment shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T 34371 during the design stage
of amusement rides bumper car. Risk assessment shall also be carried out for amusement rides
bumper car that needs to be modified or that continue to be used after the designed service life
of the whole machine has expired.
5 Technical Requirements
5.1 Machinery and structure
5.1.1 The frame shall be made of metal material.
5.1.2 There shall be no exposed sharp edges, corners, burrs, or dangerous protrusions in any
part of the bumper car that is accessible to passengers.
5.1.3 The bumper car shall be able to move forward, backward, turn left, and turn right.
5.1.4 The wheel axle shall be designed for infinite life.
5.1.5 The wheel device shall be flexible in rotation, easy to lubricate and repair.
5.1.6 A collision buffer device shall be installed on the steering wheel. The collision buffer
device can be made of sponge or foam material.
5.1.7 Steering wheel operation shall be light and effortless. Under full-load conditions, the
steering operation resistance at any point on the steering wheel shall be no greater than 40N.
5.1.8 The steering mechanism shall be flexible and reliable; and there shall be no sticking or
axial movement.
5.1.9 When the bumper car is blocked, the clutch shall be able to work effectively.
5.1.10 The weld seams of the bumper car frame shall comply with the requirements for weld
seams with Level-IV risk assessment of GB 8408.
5.1.11 Buffer devices shall be installed around the bumper car frame and installed at the same
height. Bumper car with a maximum operating speed of 4km/h ~ 10km/h shall be equipped
with buffer tires. The buffer tires shall protrude from the car body and decoration by no less
than 70mm. The size and height of the buffer tires shall be no less than 130mm. For bumper
cars with a maximum operating speed of less than 4km/h, the buffer device shall protrude from
the car body and decoration by no less than 40mm.
5.1.12 The bumper car shall run normally during startup and operation, and there shall be no
obvious slipping.
5.1.13 Rubber tires shall have normal tire pressure and no abnormal damage.
5.2 Ride system
5.2.1 The width of the seat shall be no less than 400mm per person; and the width of the seat
specially designed for children shall be no less than 250mm per person. The seat surface shall
be appropriately increased in backward inclination. When the maximum operating speed is less
resistance between the primary and secondary windings of the transformer shall be no less than
7MΩ. The insulation resistance between the transformer winding and the metal shell shall be
no less than 2MΩ.
5.3.2 The insulation resistance between the metal parts of the vehicle body and the conductor
shall be no less than 2MΩ.
5.3.3 When the bumper car is blocked and cannot run, the motor shall have the ability to
withstand overload, and the motor is not allowed to burn out.
5.3.4 Each bumper car shall be equipped with a short-circuit protection device.
5.3.5 Electrical switches (including pedal switches) operated by passengers shall use a safety
voltage of no more than 50V. When the working voltage is difficult to meet the above
requirements, the switch operating handle (including pedal switches) and other similar
structures shall comply with provisions of 8.1.1, 8.1.4, 8.1.5, and 8.2 of GB 4706.1-2005.
5.3.6 The motor current of pole-mounted bumper car and floor feeding bumper car during the
full-load test shall be no greater than the rated current of the motor. During the full load test
and cruise, the battery voltage of energy storage unit (such as battery) bumper car shall be no
less than 85% of the rated voltage; and the motor current shall be no greater than the motor
rated current.
5.3.7 An emergency stop button shall be installed on the operating platform. The button shall
be red and cannot reset automatically. Resetting the emergency stop button shall not cause the
equipment to restart.
5.3.8 The entrance and exit doors of the parking lot shall be equipped with electrical safety
interlocking devices.
5.4 Parking lot
5.4.1 The parking lot shall be flat and solid, with no unevenness.
5.4.2 Barriers shall be set up around the parking lot. The barriers shall be installed firmly and
the strength shall meet the design requirements. The upper edge of the barriers shall be higher
than the upper edge of the bumper car buffer device; and the lower edge of the barriers shall be
lower than the lower edge of the bumper car buffer device; collision corners shall be arc-shaped.
5.4.3 The parking lot shall have rainproof facilities.
5.4.4 For a parking lot that does not exceed 10 vehicles (including 10 vehicles), the area
occupied by each vehicle shall be no less than 20m2; for a parking lot that exceeds 10 vehicles,
the area occupied by each vehicle in the excess area shall be no less than 15m2.
5.4.5 If there are obstacles such as pillars in the parking lot, barriers shall be set around them;
and the safety distance shall meet the requirements of GB 8408.
5.5 Surface protection
5.5.1 Appropriate surface protection measures shall be taken for the metal structure of the
facility, except for the surface of the feeder board; such as coating with anti-rust paint, hot-dip
galvanizing, etc., or using stainless steel materials.
5.5.2 Use anti-rust paint to protect the surface of metal structures. Rust removal treatment shall
be carried out before painting to reach the Level- in GB/T 8923 (all parts); components
other than the main stress-bearing components shall reach Sa2 or St2 Grade (manual rust
removal). The paint surface shall be uniform, fine, bright, complete, and consistent in color;
and shall not have defects such as roughness, leakage, mis-painting, wrinkles, pinholes, and
severe sagging. The total thickness of the paint film should be greater than 80μm. The paint
film adhesion shall meet the first-level quality requirements specified in GB/T 9286.
5.5.3 If hot-dip galvanizing is used to protect the surface of metal structures; the hot-dip
galvanizing layer shall meet the requirements of GB/T 13912.
5.6 Emergency rescue
5.6.1 Amusement rides bumper car shall have emergency rescue plans and be equipped with
emergency rescue equipment and first-aid supplies. Regularly conduct professional training on
safety management and rescue personnel to improve the rescue capabilities of rescue personnel.
Conduct drills no less than once a year in accordance with the requirements of the emergency
plan, and keep records and summaries of drills.
5.6.2 The site shall be equipped with emergency lighting facilities, evacuation signs, evacuation
passages and other measures. In the event of sudden power outage or emergency stop,
evacuation measures shall ensure orderly evacuation of personnel to avoid crowding, trampling
and other phenomena due to panic.
5.7 Whole machine
5.7.1 The maximum operating speed of the bumper car shall be no greater than 10km/h.
5.7.2 There shall be no abnormal vibration, impact, heat, sound or stagnation when the whole
machine is running.
5.7.3 During various operation tests, the motor and structural components of the bumper car
shall not be damaged; and the components shall not be permanently deformed or damaged.
5.7.4 Each bumper car shall operate according to the approved number of passengers and rated
load capacity, and operation beyond regulations and overloading is strictly prohibited.
5.7.5 The load test shall include eccentric load test and full load test. No abnormal vibration,
impact, heat, sound or stagnation is allowed during the test. After the test, mechanical and
structural parts shall not have abnormal wearing, deformation, detaching, permanent

5.8.2.3 The current collector seat shall be flexible and reliable, with moderate tension and
sufficient compensation ability, and can apply a contact pressure of no less than 10N to the
electrode plate.
5.8.2.4 The current collector shall be made of materials with wear resistance and good
conductivity.
5.8.2.5 The floors shall be spliced tightly and flat; and the height difference between the splices
shall be no greater than 1mm.
5.8.2.6 The width of the insulating plate between the positive and negative electrode plates shall
be no less than 50mm.
5.8.2.7 The floor shall have overhead measures, and the distance between the floor and the
ground shall be no less than 10mm.
5.8.3 Energy storage unit bumper car
5.8.3.1 Energy storage units (such as lithium batteries and supercapacitor banks, etc.) shall be
installed firmly and shall not move due to collision.
5.8.3.2 The energy storage unit shall be well sealed, and there shall be no leakage, seepage,
damage, etc.
5.8.3.3 Under full load conditions, the continuous working time of the energy storage unit
capacity shall be no less than 4 h according to actual working conditions.
5.8.3.4 The energy storage unit shall be equipped with an automatic power-off device and a
prompt device after it is fully charged.
5.8.3.5 During the charging process of the energy storage unit, the bumper car shall be equipped
with protective measures to prevent it from starting.
5.8.3.6 The energy storage unit shall be equipped with a charging safety area; and fire isolation
devices shall be installed around the safety area. Ammonium phosphate dry powder fire
extinguishers shall be used. No less than two 5kg dry powder fire extinguishers shall be
equipped per 100m2. The dry powder fire extinguishers shall be placed in an obvious and easily
accessible location.
5.8.3.7 The remaining battery capacity of the bumper car shall be displayed in a conspicuous
position to facilitate the operator's observation.
6 Test Methods
6.1 Basic requirements
6.1.1 Manufacturing and installation organizations shall formulate specific inspection plans
based on relevant standards, design documents, manufacturing processes and equipment
characteristics. The plan shall include machinery and mechanisms, ride systems, electrical
control systems, parking lots, as well as inspection, detection and testing of emergency rescue,
complete machines, etc.
6.1.2 After each product is debugged, it shall be inspected, detected and tested according to the
established inspection plan. It can be delivered for use only if all inspection items are qualified.
6.1.3 The test conditions meet the following requirements:
a) The wind speed during the test shall be no greater than 8m/s;
b) Unless there are special requirements, the ambient temperature shall be -5℃~40℃, and
the relative humidity of the environment shall be no greater than 85%;
c) The error between the test load and its rated value shall not exceed ±5%.
6.1.4 Select testing instruments and measuring tools with corresponding accuracy according to
test requirements.
6.1.5 Depending on the structural type, operation mode and test purpose, the test items may be
increased or decreased.
6.1.6 Before the test, check the parts, components and connection methods of the bumper car
machinery and structure, ride system, electrical control system, emergency rescue equipment
and facilities, the tightness of the fasteners, and the lubrication and sealing degree of each
lubrication point shall be consistent with the design.
6.1.7 The static parameters among the main technical parameters shall meet the design
requirements. The allowable deviation of dynamic parameters such as operating speed and the
design calculation value is between -10% ~ 5%.
6.1.8 After the test, the structural parts of the bumper car shall not be deformed or detached;
and the foundation shall not be subsided or cracked.
6.1.9 After the test, the components with problems or doubts shall be inspected; the causes of
the found problems shall be determined promptly and measures shall be taken; and detailed
records shall be kept. The recording method can be text, pictures, images, etc.
6.1.10 After each inspection, an inspection report shall be prepared. The inspection report shall
at least contain the following contents:
