Foreword
This Standard replaces GB/T 17793-1999 “Wrought copper and copper alloy
plate, sheet and strip for general purposes - Dimensions and tolerances”.
Compared with GB/T 17793-1999, the main changes in this Standard are as
follows.
- modified the available designations and specifications of plate, sheet and
strip. added four designations H63, H85, QSn8-0.3 and BZn18-17 for sheet
and strip, added four designations H85, HPb60-2, QSn8-0.3 and BZn18-17
for plate; changed the lower limit of sheet and strip from "0.05mm" to
"greater than 0.15mm";
- tightened the provisions on thickness tolerance for pure copper, brass cold
rolled plates of which the thickness is greater than 5.0mm, the width is not
greater than 1250mm;
- reclassified the thickness tolerance for pure copper, brass cold rolled sheets
and strips; tightened the provisions on thickness tolerance for the part with
a width greater than 700mm~1200mm;
- reclassified the thickness tolerance for bronze, cupronickel sheets and
strips; modified corresponding thickness tolerance;
- reclassified the width tolerance for plates; added allowable deviation of roll
slitting; tightened the provisions on shear tolerance with a thickness greater
than 12mm;
- tightened the provisions on plate flatness;
- reclassified the side curvature of sheets and strips; added the high-
precision level and modified corresponding side curvature.
This Standard modified on the basis of adopting the part of size tolerance of
Japanese Industrial Standard JIS H3100.2006 “Copper and copper alloy
sheets, plates and strips” and JIS H3110.2006 “Phosphor bronze and nickel
silver sheets, plates and strips”. The degree of consistency with JIS
H3100.2006 and JIS H3110.2006 is non-equivalent.
This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee
on Non-ferrous Metals of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC
243).

1 Scope
This Standard specifies dimensions and tolerances for wrought copper and
copper alloy plate, sheet and strip.
This Standard is applicable to wrought copper and copper alloy plate, sheet and
strip for general purposes.
2 Requirements
2.1 Designations and specifications
2.1.1 The designations and corresponding specifications of plates are shown in
Table 1.
2.1.2 The designations and corresponding specifications of sheets and strips
are shown in Table 2.

2.2 Tolerances of dimensions
2.2.1 Thickness tolerance
2.2.1.1 The thickness tolerance of the hot-rolled plate shall meet the
requirements of Table 3.
2.2.1.4 The thickness tolerance of pure copper and brass sheets and strips shall
meet the requirements of Table 6.
2.2.5 Side curvature of sheet and strip
The shape of the sheet and strip shall be straight. Slight waves are allowed.
The side curvature shall meet the requirements of Table 12.
