1 Scope
This document specifies the technical requirements for air performance, noise, odor
reduction, grease absorption factor of range hoods and other cooking fume extractors
(hereinafter referred to as "appliances"), which have a rated voltage not exceeding 250
V; describes the corresponding inspection rules, test methods; specifies the content of
marking, packaging, transportation, storage, etc.; at the same time provides product
classification for technical requirements.
This document does not cover.
- Appliances installed for industrial and commercial purposes;
- Appliances installed in special places, such as where corrosive or explosive gases
(dust, steam or flammable gases) are present.
2 Normative references
The contents of the following documents constitute the essential provisions of this
document through normative references in the text. Among them, for dated references,
only the version corresponding to the date applies to this document; for undated
references, the latest version (including all amendments) applies to this document.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Scope hood
An electric appliance, which is installed on the upper part of the stove, to collect and
treat polluted air.
3.2 Air-extraction range hood
Range hood (3.1) for exhausting air through ducts to the outside.
3.3 Circulating range hood
Range hood (3.1) which returns the treated polluted air back indoor.
3.4 Dual type range hood
The range hood (3.1), that can be used not only as an air-extraction type but also as
a recirculating type.
3.5 Down-draft system
A device, that is installed adjacent to or integrated into a cooking appliance, to
discharge the cooking fumes downwards through a duct.
Note. The downdraft system and the integrated stove, which is integrated with the downdraft
system, are considered to be a kind of other cooking fume extractors.
3.6 Main motor
Motor for driving the appliance's exhaust impeller.
4 Classification and naming
4.1 Classification of range hoods
4.1.1 According to the discharge method, it can be divided into.
4.1.2 According to the switch form, it can be divided into.
4.1.3 According to the appearance characteristics, it can be divided into.
4.1.4 According to the installation method, it can be divided into.
4.2 Model nomenclature
4.2.1 Model designation of range hoods
4.2.1.1 The product model representation method is as follows.
4.2.2 Classification and model designation of other cooking fume extractors
The classification and model designation of other cooking fume extractors shall be
carried out, in accordance with the corresponding product standards.
5 Requirements
5.1 General requirements
The special functions of the appliance (such as wireless interconnection, remote control,
audio-visual functions, etc.) shall comply with the relevant national standards.
5.2 Safety requirements
The safety performance of the appliance shall comply with the relevant national
standards.
5.3 Air performance
5.3.1 Carry out the test, in accordance with the method in Appendix A. The appliance
operates at the highest continuous setting for normal use under the rated voltage and
rated frequency. The indicated value shall meet the requirements in Table 1.
5.4 Noise
5.4.1 Noise from semi-anechoic room
5.4.2 Working noise
Carry out the test, in accordance with the method in Appendix C. The indicated value
of the operating noise, at the highest continuous setting for normal use, shall not be
greater than 72 dB(A). The indicated value of the operating noise, at the non-continuous
setting for use (if any), shall not be greater than 74 dB(A); meanwhile the measured
value shall not be higher than the indicated value.
5.5 Lighting
5.5.1 The lighting lamp of the appliance shall emit light normally. The lampshade shall
not be cracked or deformed. The light transmission shall be good.
5.5.2 Lampholders for lighting appliances shall meet the requirements of GB/T 1312,
GB/T 17935, GB/T 17936.
5.6 Impeller stability
Check by means of visual inspection and power-on operation. All parts of the appliance
shall be installed firmly and reliably; there shall be no obvious deflection, vibration,
abnormal noise during operation; the impeller shall not rub against related parts.
5.7 Appearance
Test according to the method in 6.4.During normal use or user maintenance, the

5.8 Service life
5.8.1 Carry out the test according to the method in 6.5.1.The switch shall not be
damaged OR the control shall not fail.
5.8.2 Carry out the test according to the method in 6.5.2.The appliance shall be able to
operate normally, under the conditions specified in 6.1.
5.9 Odor reduction factor
Test according to the method in Appendix D. The instantaneous odor reduction factor
of the appliance shall not be less than 60%.
5.10 Grease absorption factor
Carry out the test according to the method in Appendix E. The grease absorption factor
degree of the appliance shall not be less than 85%.
5.11 Packaging performance
5.12 Structural dimensions
5.12.1 In order to better match the appliance with the kitchen furniture, the overall
length (including exposed screws) should be an integer multiple of M, as shown in Table 3.
5.12.2 The recommended dimensions for the outer diameter of the exhaust pipe are.
160 mm, 170 mm, 180 mm, 190 mm.
6 Test method
6.1 General test conditions
Except that the test conditions have been specified, the rest of the tests shall be carried
out in a room that meets the following environmental requirements.
6.2 Instruments and meters used in the test
Unless there are special provisions for specific tests, the instruments and meters used
for the test shall comply with the following provisions.
6.3 Lighting test
Carry out the test according to the method in Appendix F, to evaluate the illuminance
of the lighting fixture.
6.4 Appearance inspection
Use a sharp edge tester, that meets the requirements in Chapter 2 of GB/Z 34447-2017,
to conduct the test, according to the test procedures in Chapter 5 of GB/Z 34447-2017.
Using the method described above, application of the sharp edge tester to an accessible
edge shall not result in cutting through the outer two layers of sensing strip.
6.5 Life test
6.5.1 The life test of the mechanical speed control switch and the lighting switch can
be carried out, under the actual working condition of the appliance. The electronic
switch can be carried out in the simulated equivalent circuit. The operating frequency
is 12 times/min; the cumulative number of tests is 10000.
6.5.2 The life test of the whole machine is carried out under the normal test conditions
of the appliance. The appliance is in the highest continuous setting for normal use,
which has an interval of 0.5 hours for every 4 hours of operation, for a total of 5000
hours of operation.
7 Inspection rules
7.1 Inspection classification
Appliance inspection is divided into exit-factory inspection, random inspection, type
inspection.
7.2 Exit-factory inspection
7.2.1 Each product shall pass the exit-factory inspection, before leaving the factory.
7.2.2 The exit-factory inspection items, technical requirements, test methods shall be
carried out, in accordance with the provisions in Table 4.
7.3 Random inspection
Sampling inspection shall be carried out, in accordance with GB/T 2828.1.The
sampling inspection items, batch size, inspection level, acceptance quality limit of
batch-by-batch inspection may refer to the requirements in Table 5, OR be determined
by the quality inspection department of the manufacturer.
7.4 Type inspection
7.4.1 In one of the following situations, type inspection shall be carried out.
7.4.2 The items, technical requirements, categories of nonconformances of type
inspection shall be carried out, according to the requirements in Table 6.
7.4.3 After the product is inspected, if the following situations occur, the type inspection
is unqualified.
8 Sign, packaging, transportation, storage
8.1 Sign
8.1.1 Relevant parts of the appliance shall have the marking content, which is stipulated
in the relevant mandatory national standards. They shall be inspected according to the
inspection methods specified in the standards. The markings shall be clear and durable.
8.1.2 The marking on the appliance shall include the following items.
8.1.3 The user manual, which is attached to the appliance, shall at least include the
following information and description.
8.1.4 The pictorial marks for packaging, storage, transportation shall comply with the
relevant provisions of GB/T 191.The marks on the packaging box shall include the
following contents.
8.2 Packaging
There shall be accompanying documents (including at least the user manual, product
quality certificate, warranty) and accessories in the packaging box.
8.3 Transportation
8.3.1 During transportation and storage, the appliance shall be protected from severe
vibration, extrusion, exposure to rain and snow, chemical corrosion.
8.3.2 It shall be handled with care, stacked neatly; rolling and throwing are strictly
prohibited.
8.4 Storage
8.4.1 Appliances shall be stored in a dry, ventilated warehouse, where there is no
corrosive or harmful gas around.
8.4.2 Appliances shall be stored according to type. The stacking height shall take into
account the bearing strength of the packaging box. It shall be easy to pick and place. It
shall not exceed the stacking limit, to prevent extrusion and stacking collapse.
