Art candle series products are one of the main products in the candle industry. In order to ensure product quality, this industry standard is formulated. This standard was compiled, with reference to the German standard RAL-GZ 041/1 (2005) "General quality and inspection specifications for candles", the American Society for Testing and Materials standard ASTM F 2417-2004 "Standard specification for fire safety for candles". This standard was proposed by the China National Light Industry Council. This standard shall be under the jurisdiction of the National Standardization Center for Toothpaste and Wax Products. The main drafting organizations of this standard. This standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods, inspection rules and signs, packaging, transportation, storage, shelf life of art candles. This standard applies to art candle products.2 Normative references

The following terms and definitions apply to this standard.4 Requirements
4.1 Performance Indicators The performance indicators of art candles shall meet the requirements of Table 1. 4.2 Net content The net content shall comply with the provisions of Order No.75 of the General Administration of Quality and Children Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.5 Test method
5.1 Color Take 4 samples. Inspect them visually. 5.2 Odor Take 4 samples. Sniff it. 5.3 Exposed length of candle wick Take 4 samples. Use a vernier caliper to make measurement. Each candle shall meet the standard requirements. Take the maximum value of the test results among the 4 candles, as the final test result. 5.4 Thermal stability 5.5.1 Main instruments 5.6 Product placement stability Take 4 samples. Place them on an inclined surface of 10°, one by one. Observe whether there is any overturning phenomenon, at any placement angle. 5.7 Combustion performance Take 4 samples. Light the candle, for 15 minutes, at room temperature of 15 °C ~ 25 °C, without strong air convection. Observe the burning condition, until it is completely extinguished. Use a steel ruler to measure the flame height. Take the maximum of the test results, among the 4 candles, as the final test result. 5.8 Burning time Take 4 samples. Use a timer, to measure the time taken for the candle, FROM ignition TO burning to 10 mm or 20 mm from the bottom of the candle (refer to note 5.7 for the test), under the condition of room temperature 15 °C ~ 25 °C, without strong air convection. 5.9 Burning afterglow Take 4 samples. Ignite the candle for 30 minutes, at a room temperature of 15 °C ~ 25 °C, without strong air convection. Measure the time, FROM the extinguishing of candle wick TO smoke-free. Relight the candle. Repeat the above test. Take the maximum value of the two test results, as the final test result.6 Inspection rules
6.1 Inspection classification Product inspection is divided into exit-factory inspection and type inspection. 6.1.1 Exit-factory inspection Each batch of products must pass the inspection, by the inspection department of the manufacturer, before leaving the factory. The exit-factory inspection items are color, odor, candle wick's exposed length, combustion performance. 6.1.3 Group-batch and sampling The products, which are produced in the same batch, by the same batch of materials and specifications, form one batch. Take 5 small packages, from each batch of products. After passing the inspection by the inspection department of manufacturer, AND attached with the product qualification certificate, it can be exit-factory. 6.2 Judgment rules If there is an indicator in the inspection result, that does not meet the requirements of this standard, it may double the sampling quantity, to carry out reinspection. For unqualified items, the results of the re-inspection shall prevail. If there is still one indicator, in the re-inspection result, that does not meet the requirements of this standard, it will be judged as unqualified.7 Marking, packaging, transportation, storage, shelf life
7.1 Marking Product packaging and transportation packaging shall meet the requirements of GB/T 191. 7.1.1 The following signs shall be displayed on the sales package. In special cases, it shall be based on customer requirements. 7.1.2 The transportation package shall have the following signs. In special circumstances, it can be based on customer requirements. 7.2 Packaging In the case of not damaging the quality of the product, the product's packaging form and packaging materials are determined, by both the supplier and the buyer. 7.3 Transportation Avoid violent vibration, impact, sun and rain exposure, during transportation. Handle with care when loading and unloading. 7.4 Storage The product shall be stored in a ventilated and dry warehouse below 35 °C. Avoid being close to heat sources. When stacking, it shall not directly touch the ground and wall. The stacking height shall not exceed 2 m. 7.5 Shelf life The date shall be marked on the visible surface.
