This Standard specifies the requirements for packaging, labeling, transport, storage, and traceability of chilled and frozen foods during the logistics process. This Standard applies to the logistics operations and management of chilled and frozen foods.2 Normative references
The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies. GB/T 191 Graphical symbols marking for handling and storage of packages GB/T 6388 Transport package shipping mark GB/T 28843-2012 Management requirement for traceability in food cold chain logistics GB/T 30134-2013 Cold store management regulation GB/T 34344 General technical requirement of packaging materials for agricultural products logistics GB 50072 Code for design of cold store3 Terms and definitions
For the purpose of this document, the following terms and definitions apply. 3.1 chilled foods Foods stored, transported, and sold at temperatures below 8 °C but above their freezing point. 3.2 frozen foods Foods stored, transported, and sold at temperatures below or equal to -18 °C. 3.3 logistics package Repackaging of packaged foods during the logistics process.4 Logistics package
4.1 Logistics package schemes shall be rationally selected based on the type, shape, characteristics, and environmental impact of chilled and frozen foods, to ensure the quality and hygiene safety of chilled and frozen foods during the logistics process. 4.2 Logistics package materials shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 34344. 4.3 The dimensions of logistics package shall be compatible with facilities and equipment such as turnover boxes, pallets (preferably 1200 mm × 1000 mm), shelves, forklifts, refrigerated trucks, refrigerated containers, refrigerated ships (holds), and refrigerated trains. 4.4 When packaging chilled and frozen foods that are not pressure-resistant, supports or padding shall be added inside the logistics package. When packaging chilled and frozen foods that are prone to moisture loss1), absorbent padding shall be added inside the logistics package. The supports and padding shall meet relevant food safety and hygiene requirements.5 Logistics package marking
5.1 Storage and transportation markings on logistics package shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 191.The packaging shall at least indicate the temperature conditions for storage and transportation of chilled and frozen foods. 5.2 Shipping and receiving markings on logistics package shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 6388.6 Transport
6.1 Transport equipment 1) Moisture, juices, and blood generated by the chilled and frozen foods themselves, as well as condensation generated during the logistics process. 6.1.1 Specialized equipment with temperature control capabilities shall be used for transporting chilled and frozen foods. This specialized equipment shall have good antifreeze and heat insulation properties. 6.1.2 Safety precautions shall be clearly marked on the transport equipment. 6.1.3 The transport equipment compartment shall be clean, non-toxic, harmless, odorless, free of pollution, and the inner walls shall be smooth and flat. 6.1.4 The transport equipment compartment shall be equipped with an automatic temperature recording device with an abnormality alarm function, to monitor and record the temperature inside the compartment in real time during transportation. 6.1.5 Thermal insulation devices should preferably be installed at the doors of the transport equipment compartment. 6.1.6 The refrigeration system and temperature measuring equipment shall be inspected, maintained, and calibrated regularly. If any abnormality is detected, stop using the product immediately and carry out repairs promptly. 6.2 Operational requirements 6.2.1 Loading 6.2.1.1 Before loading, the inner walls of the transport equipment compartment shall be cleaned and disinfected as needed. The transport equipment shall be inspected to confirm that the refrigeration system and defrosting system are in good condition and that the temperature monitoring equipment is working properly. 6.2.1.2 The transport equipment compartment shall be pre-cooled before loading. Loading can only proceed when the temperature inside the compartment meets the loading requirements for chilled and frozen foods. Temperature control measures shall be in place in the loading area. ......Source: Above contents are excerpted from the full-copy PDF -- translated/reviewed by: www.ChineseStandard.net / Wayne Zheng et al.
