NOTE 1: Participant’s location code is also called global location number.Appendix A
(Normative) Calculation Method of the Check Code A.1 Calculation method The check code uses 10 as the modulus, 3 and 1 as the weighting factors, and is calculated according to the following steps: --- Step 1: Number the 13 digits (including the check code) sequentially from right to left, starting from 1; --- Step 2: Add up the values at all positions with even numbers; --- Step 3: multiply the result of the Step-2 by the value 3; --- Step 4: Starting from the sequence number 3, add up the values at all positions with odd sequence numbers; --- Step 5: Add up the result of the Step-3 to the result of the Step-4; --- Step 6: Subtract the result of Step-5 by a number that is no less than the result of Step-5 and is the smallest integral multiple of 10; then the difference is the value of the required check code. A.2 Calculation example Example: Calculate the value C in the check code of 690123456789C. ......Source: Above contents are excerpted from the full-copy PDF -- translated/reviewed by: www.ChineseStandard.net / Wayne Zheng et al.
