1 Scope

This standard defines the terms and their definitions of carbon black. This standard applies to carbon black for rubber, carbon black and acetylene carbon black pigment.

2 Terms and definitions

2.1 Black carbonblack Hydrocarbons by incomplete combustion or thermal cracking generated mainly composed of carbon, similar to colloidal particles and a colloidal sphere In the form of aggregates of size occurring substance. Primary particle size of the same aggregates are basically the same, the primary particle was parallel to the internal state of a thin layer structure. Note. The size and the primary particle size of carbon black aggregates varieties relationship with a given maximum. In a single aggregate, the primary particle size is substantially the same. 2.2 Carbon black agglomerates carbonblackagglomerate A plurality of aggregates by physical adsorption and one cluster member wound formation. 2.3 Carbon black aggregates carbonblackaggregate A plurality of carbon black particles (2.8) extending from the aggregated or discrete, rigid colloidal substances, is the smallest dispersible unit of carbon black. 2.4 Carcass carbon black carcassgradecarbonblack Average specific surface area in the range of 21m2/g ~ 69m2/g of furnace black. Note. The carcass is the oil furnace carbon black production. Such carbon black is not limited to the carcass portion of the tire when used in the rubber industry. Classification of GB 3778-2011 Nomenclature and Table 1 have been designated and the second letter (5, 6 or 7) represented by the first letter of this type of carbon black (N). See GB/T 6326- 2005 definition of carcass. 2.5 Furnace black furnacecarbonblack Under controlled conditions, the hydrocarbon compound is injected into a class of carbon at high combustion gas generated by pyrolysis. 2.6 Hard black hardcarbonblack See tread carbon black (2.19). Note. All carbon black mixed with rubber can provide some degree of reinforcement, reinforcing the role of the size of the carbon black varieties and usage function. See also GB/T 9881-2008 definition of reinforcement. 2.7 Carbon black microstructure carbonblackmicrostructure Carbon black particles in the arrangement of carbon atoms. 2.8 Carbon black particles carbonblackparticle A small, spherical carbon black aggregates (secondary crystalline, continuous) part, only separated from the aggregates can be broken through.
