Tapping Screws of Stainless-steel; - GB/T 3098.22-2009 Mechanical Properties of Fasteners Made of the Fine Grain Non-heat Treatment Steel - Bolts, Screws and Studs. This part is Part 1 of GB/ T 3098. This part is modified in relation to ISO 898-1. 2009 "Mechanical Properties of Fasteners Made of Carbon Steel and Alloy Steel - Part 1. Bolts, Screws and Studs with Specified Property Classes - Coarse Thread and Fine Pitch Thread" (English edition) and the main II modifications are as follows. - Standard name was modified; - In the normative references, the international standards were replaced with national standards (see Chapter 2); - Designation of "property class" for "fasteners for reducing load bearing capacity" in ISO 898-1 is not in accordance with those specified in Chapter 5 and correction was made in this part (see Tables 10, 11 and 12); - "The fracture for fasteners of ds >d2 shall be present within the free threaded length" specified in ISO 898-1 was modified as "The fracture shall be present within the free threaded length or unthreaded shank" in this part (see Section 8.2.1, Articles 9.1.6.1.2 and 9.2.6.2); - Radius of pendulum blade adopted in the impact test is unspecified in ISO 898-1 and it is specified as "2mm radius of pendulum blade shall be adopted" (see Section 9.14.5). This part replaced GB/T 3098.1-2000 “Mechanical Properties of Fasteners - Bolts, Screws and Studs. Compared with GB/T 3098.1-2000, main changes in this part are as follows. - Terms and definitions are newly added (Chapter 3); - Symbols and terms for mechanical physical properties are comprehensively updated (Chapter 4~Chapter 9); - Designation, mark, basic types and applicable test methods for property class of fasteners for reducing load bearing capacity are newly added (Chapter 5 and Sections 10.4, 8.2.2, 8.6.1 and 8.6.2); - In materials for manufacturing fasteners, "Carbon steel or carbon steel with additional element" is specified for Classes 4.6~ 6.8"; "carbon steel with additional element" is added for Classes 8.8~12.9 and replaces the "low carbon alloy steel" specified in the former standard (See Table 2); - The note in relevant materials for fasteners in Chapter 6 "where relevant countries or regions are involved, it shall be noted that some chemical elements are limited by some national regulations or prohibited for use”; - "requirements for fastener materials in GB/T 5267.3 are applicable to hot galvanizing fasteners" was added in Chapter 6; - Classes 3.6 and 10.9 were canceled, Class 12.9 was newly added and Class 12.9 was modified (Chapter 6 and Chapter 7); - Maximum content of boron is unspecified for Class 4.6~Class 6.8; - Maximum content is specified as 0.025% for Classes 8.8~12.9 phosphorus (P) and sulfur (s); - "Requirements shall be executed carefully where 12.9/Class12.9 is used" was newly added (footnote i in Table 2); - Index of strength and impact test methods were modified (Table 3 and Section 9.14); - Table 4 and Table 5 in former standard were canceled and two test series (groups) were specified (Chapter 8); - Requirements of "the manufacturer, the supplier and the demander may select their own methods to control the product quality" were newly added (see Sections 8.3, 8.4 and 8.5); - Requirements on testers were newly added (see Section 9.2.3 etc.); - Examples for tensile test devices were newly added (see Figure 2); III - Threads of internal adaptors for wedge on-load test and tensile test were newly added (see Table 14); - Index and test methods for determining percentage elongation after fracture (Af) and 0.0048d non-proportional elongation stress (Rpf) by full-size tensile test were newly added (see Chapter 9 and Appendix C); - Appendix A of the former standard "Yield Point at High Temperature or Specified Non-proportional Elongation Stress" was canceled; - Informative appendixes "Relationship between Tensile Strength and Percentage Elongation after Fracture" and Impact of High Temperature on Mechanical Properties of Fasteners" were newly added (see Appendix A and Appendix B).
