Aluminum and aluminum alloys of rare earth analysis methods
Chemical analysis method for the determination of rare earth content
Method One. Tribromoarsenazo spectrophotometry
1 Scope
This standard specifies the method for determination of aluminum and aluminum alloys of rare earth cerium group.
The standard of the present method is applicable to the determination of total rare earth aluminum in aluminum and cerium group. Measurement range of 0.050% - 0.400%.
This standard does not apply to the present method for the determination of aluminum and aluminum alloys of rare earth cerium group containing yttrium group rare earth.
2 Method summary
The sample is dissolved in hydrochloric acid, hydrochloric acid - oxalic acid medium with hydrogen peroxide and ethanol elimination of titanium (Ⅳ) and iron (Ⅲ) interference, in about
1mol/L HCl medium, rare earth and cerium group Tribromoarsenazo generate stable blue-violet complex, in the spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 634nm
Measuring the absorbance.
3 Reagents
3.1 Hydrogen peroxide (p is 1.11g/cm3).
3.2 hydrochloride (11).
3.3 ethanol.
3.4 Hydrogen peroxide (595).
3.5 oxalate (H2C2O4 · 2H2O) solution (80g/L).
3.6 Tribromoarsenazo solution (0.25g/L).
3.7 aluminum solution (4mg/mL). Weigh 4.00g pure aluminum (≥99.9%, excluding rare earth elements) in 500mL beaker was added in total
100mL volume hydrochloric acid (3.2), low-temperature heating until complete dissolution and cooled. Moved into 1000mL volumetric flask, dilute to the mark,
Mix well.
3.8 Storage cerium standard solution. Weigh 0.6142g pre-ignition 30min at 800 ℃ ~ 850 ℃, rise in a desiccator to cool to room temperature
Ceria ( > 99.9%) were placed in a beaker, was added 5mL perchloric acid (1 1), 2mL of hydrogen peroxide (3.1), cover sheet pan, low temperature heating
To cerium oxide completely dissolved, evaporated to near dryness, coolish. Was added 50mL of hydrochloric acid (3.2), 6 drops of hydrogen peroxide (3.1), heated to boiling, dissolved salts
Class, so that decomposition of hydrogen peroxide is completely cooled. Transferred to 500mL volumetric flask, add 35mL of hydrochloric acid (3.2), dilute to the mark, mix
uniform. 1mL solution containing 1mg cerium.
Note. In this standard assay conditions, Tribromoarsenazo complex equal amounts of cerium and other rare earth cerium group agreed absorbance, it can be used in place of cerium Cerium RE for
standard.
Cerium 3.9 Standard Solution A. Pipette 10.00mL cerium standard stock solution (3.8) in 500mL volumetric flask, was added 40mL of hydrochloric acid
(3.2), dilute to the mark and mix. This solution 1mL containing 20.0μg cerium.
3.10 cerium standard solution B. Pipette 10.00mL cerium standard solution A (3.9) in 100mL volumetric flask, dilute with water to volume, and mix.
This solution 1mL containing 2μg cerium (used when existing service).
