This revised standard adopts IWTO-30-98 "Determination of staple length and strength of the" American Society for Materials International organizations and wool test
ASTMD1234-85 (2001) "sampling and test methods greasy wool staple length."
This standard IWTO-30-98 Technical changes compared as follows.
--- Increasing the scope of other animal hair also applicable content, and ASTM standards with;
--- Added Appendix A "test staple number" is determined to increase the number of staple test;
--- Laboratory sample consisted of approximately 2kg increase to less than 4kg.
This standard ASTMD1234-85 (2001) compared the main technical changes are as follows.

--- Added Appendix A test to determine the number of staple;
--- Did not use sampling spear-like tools and sampling methods.
This standard replaces GB/T 6976-1986 "natural wool staple length of the test method."
