This document replaces GB/T 18204.4-2013 "Public Place Hygiene Inspection Methods Part 4.Microorganisms of Public Supplies and Utensils" and
Compared with GB/T 18204.4-2013, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) The terms and definitions have been changed (see Chapter 3, Chapter 2 of the.2013 edition);
b) Some instruments and consumables have been changed (see 4.2, 5.2, 6.2, 7.2 and 8.2, 3.2, 4.2, 5.2, 6.2 and 7.2 of the.2013 edition);
c) Some culture media and reagents have been changed (see 6.3 and 8.3, 5.1 and 7.1 of the.2013 edition);

Introduction
GB/T 18204 "Public Place Hygiene Inspection Methods" is a national recommended standard and is consistent with GB 37488 "Public Place Hygiene Indicators and Limits".
GB/T 18204 (all parts) is used in conjunction with the "Requirements for Public Places" and is the recommended standard test method for public place hygiene monitoring.
The publication is conducive to standardizing sample collection, on-site and laboratory testing in public places, and improving the precision and accuracy of test results of testing institutions.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

Total bacterial count
The growth of mesophilic aerobic and facultative anaerobic bacterial colonies on nutrient agar medium at 36℃±1℃ for 48h

Aerobic and facultative anaerobic Gram-negative, non-spore-forming bacillus that can ferment lactose, produce acid and gas under certain culture conditions.
