Fall protection falling device
1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification, classification and marking, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and signs of the descending device.
This standard applies to both automatic and manual descent devices for vertical use.
This standard does not apply to building fire escape descent devices.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Descending device descenderdevices
A device that allows the user to land on the ground at a certain speed or assisted by others from a height.
Note 1. It can be divided into automatic descending device and manual descending device.
Note 2. The descending device can be composed of a descending rope and a speed limiting member.
3.2
Automatic descending device automaticdescenderdevice
A descending device for the user to apply human intervention to the speed limiting device is not required during the descent.
3.3
Manual descending device manualy-operateddescenderdevice
During the descent process, the user can manually control the speed limit device to reach the descent device that controls the speed function.
3.4
Locking mechanism paniclockingelement
An emergency brake that is integrated with the descending device and that is used when the speed is out of control or needs to be terminated.
3.5
Falling rope descentline
A component that is connected to the speed limiting component of the descending device to determine the direction of descent during the descent and to withstand the load.
Note. Made of fiber rope, webbing or wire rope.
