1 General provisions

1.0.1 This Code is formulated, to unify the technical requirements for construction quality inspection, on-site inspection, completion acceptance of generic cabling system projects for buildings and building complexes. 1.0.2 This Code is applicable to the acceptance of generic cabling system projects for newly built, expanded, renovated buildings and building complexes. 1.0.3 During the construction process, the construction organization shall comply with the requirements on construction quality inspection. The building organization shall strengthen on-site quality inspection, through construction site representatives or project supervisors; organize the inspection, signoff, certification work of concealed work in a timely manner. 1.0.4 Self-test and completion acceptance test shall be carried out, before acceptance of the generic cabling project. 1.0.5 In addition to complying with this Code, the acceptance of generic cabling system projects shall also comply with the provisions of relevant national standards.

3 Environment examination

3.0.1 The building environment examination of work areas, telecommunications rooms, equipment rooms, etc. shall comply with the following requirements. 1 The civil works in the work area, telecommunications room, equipment room, user unit area shall be completed. The floor of the building shall be flat and smooth; the height and width of the door shall comply with the requirements of design document. 2 The location, quantity, size of embedded trough boxes, concealed conduits, holes, shafts in the building shall comply with the requirements of design document. 3 Where the raised floor is laid, the anti-static measures and earthing of the raised floor shall comply with the requirements of design document. 4 The height -- from the bottom of the information socket box, which is concealed or exposed on the wall or column to the ground -- should be 300 mm. 5 The height -- from the bottom of the information socket box, which is installed on the side partition of the workbench to the adjacent wall -- should be 1000 mm. 6 The CP assembly point box and multi-user information socket box should be installed on the inlet side of the duct, as well as on columns and load-bearing walls, which are easy for maintenance. The height of the bottom edge of the box, above the ground, should be 500 mm. When installed on the upper part of the wall or column OR when installed in a suspended ceiling, the height from the ground should not be less than 1800 mm.

4 Examination of equipment and test instrumentation

4.0.1 Equipment inspection shall comply with the following requirements. 1 The brand, model, specification, quantity, quality of cables and equipment, which is used in the project, shall be inspected before construction. They shall comply with the requirements of the design documents. They shall have corresponding quality documents or certificates. If there are no exit-factory inspection certification materials, quality documents, or those that do not conform to the design, they shall not be used in the project; 2 Imported equipment and materials shall have certificates of origin and commodity inspection certificates; 3 Inspected equipment shall be recorded. Unqualified equipment shall be stored separately, for verification and treatment; 4 The cables and equipment used in the project shall be consistent with the order contract or retained product samples, in terms of specifications, models, grades; 5 Spare parts, spare components and various documents shall be complete. 4.0.2 The examination of profiles, pipes, iron parts shall comply with the following requirements. 1 For the examination of equipment used in underground communication pipelines and manholes (hand holes) and the inspection of outdoor pipelines, it shall comply with the relevant provisions of the current national standard "Code of construction and acceptance for communication conduit engineering" GB 50374; 2 The materials, specifications, models of various profiles shall comply with the requirements of the design documents; the surface shall be smooth and flat, without deformation or breakage; 3 The surface coating or plating of metal conduits, bridges, wiring protection boxes, junction boxes, etc. shall be uniform and complete, without deformation or damage; 4 When metal conduits or plastic conduits are used as indoor pipes, the pipe shall be smooth without scars; the pipe hole shall not be deformed; the hole diameter and wall thickness shall comply with the requirements of design document; 5 Metal pipe troughs shall be galvanized or otherwise anti-corrosion treated, according to the requirements of the engineering environment. Plastic pipe troughs shall be flame-retardant pipe troughs; the outer walls shall have flame-retardant markings; 6 The materials and specifications of various metal parts shall meet the quality requirements; there shall be no skew, twist, burr, break or damage; 7 The surface treatment and plating of metal parts shall be uniform and complete; the surface shall be smooth, without defects such as falling off or blisters.

5 Examination of equipment installation

5.0.1 The specifications, capacity, location of cabinets, wiring boxes and other equipment shall comply with the requirements of the design documents. The installation shall comply with the following requirements. 1 The vertical deviation shall not be greater than 3 mm; 2 The various parts on the cabinet must not fall off or be damaged; the paint surface shall not be peeled off or scratched; the various marks shall be complete and clear; 3 When installing wiring boxes in public places, the distance -- from the bottom edge of the wall-embedded box to the ground -- should not be less than 1.5 m. The distance -- from the bottom edge of the wall-hang box to the ground -- should not be less than 1.8 m; 4 The opening and closing of the door lock shall be flexible and reliable; 5 Cabinets, wiring boxes, bridges and other equipment shall be installed firmly. When there are seismic requirements, they shall be reinforced according to seismic design. 5.0.2 The installation of various wiring components shall comply with the following requirements. 1 All components shall be complete, installed in place; the marking shall be complete and clear; 2 The mounting screws shall be tightened; the panel shall remain on a flat surface. 5.0.3 The installation of information socket modules shall comply with the following requirements. 1 The installation position and height of the information socket bottom box, multi- user information socket, assembly point wiring box, user unit information wiring box shall comply with the requirements of design document. 2 When installed in the raised floor or on the ground, it shall be fixed in the junction box. The socket panel shall be upright or horizontal. The junction box cover can be opened and shall be waterproof, dustproof, pressure-resistant. The junction box cover shall be flush with the ground. 3 When the information socket module and power socket are installed in the bottom box of the information socket at the same time, the spacing and protective measures taken shall comply with the requirements of design document. 4 The fixing method of the surface-mounted information socket bottom box shall be determined, according to the construction site conditions. 5 The fixing screws shall be tightened; they shall not be loose. 6 Various socket panels shall be marked with colors, graphics, text, to indicate the service type of the connected terminal equipment. 7 The optical fiber connecting devices and adapter installation bottom boxes for terminating optical cables in the work area shall have space. They shall meet the requirements of the design documents.

6 Examination of cable laying and protective measures

6.1 Cable laying 6.1.1 The laying of cables shall comply with the following requirements. 1 The type and specifications of cables shall be consistent with the design requirements. 2 The laying method and layout spacing of cables in various environments shall comply with the design requirements. 3 The cables shall be laid out naturally and straight, without twisting or looping; they shall not be squeezed or damaged by external forces. 4 Cable joints must not appear in the routing of cables. 5 Both ends of the cable shall be labeled and numbered; the label writing shall be clear, straight, correct. Labels shall be made of materials, that are not easily damaged. 6 Cables shall have margin, to accommodate termination, final connection, testing, changes. If there are special requirements, the length shall be reserved according to the design requirements, which shall comply with the following requirements. 1) At the termination point of the twisted pair cable, the reserved length in the bottom box of the information socket should be 30 mm ~ 60 mm in the work area, 0.5 m ~ 2.0 m in the telecommunications room, 3 m ~ 5 m in the equipment room; 2) Optical cable laying routes should be loop-reserved. The reserved length should be 3 m ~ 5 m. The reserved length of the optical cable at the wiring cabinet shall be 3 m ~ 5 m. The reserved length of the optical fiber at the floor wiring box shall be 1.0 m ~ 1.5 m. The reserved length when terminating the wiring box shall not be less than 0.5 m. When the fiber core is not terminated at the wiring module, it shall retain the reserved length for optical cable construction. 7 The bending radius of the cable shall comply with the following requirements. 1) The bending radius of unshielded and shielded 4-pair twisted cables shall not be less than 4 times the outer diameter of the cable; 2) The bending radius of the trunk twisted pair cable shall not be less than 10 times the outer diameter of the cable; 3) The bending radius of 2-core or 4-core horizontal optical cables shall be greater than 25 mm; the bending radius of horizontal optical cables, trunk optical cables, outdoor optical cables, which have other core numbers, shall not be less than 10 times the outer diameter of the optical cable; 4) The bending radius of G.657 and G.652 user optical cables shall comply with the provisions of Table 6.1.1-1.

7 Cable termination

7.0.1 Cable termination shall comply with the following requirements. 1 Before terminating the cable, check whether the cable identification content is correct; 2 The cable termination shall be firm and in good contact; 3 When connecting twisted pair cables to connecting devices, the wire numbers and wire position color codes shall be identified; no inversion or misconnection is allowed. 7.0.2 The termination of twisted pair cables shall comply with the following requirements. 1 When terminating, each pair of twisted wires shall remain in a twisted state; the untwisted length shall not be greater than 75 mm for category 3 cables, not greater than 13 mm for category 5 cables, not greater than 6.4 mm for category 6 and above cables. 2 When the twisted pairs are connected to the 8-bit modular universal socket, they shall be connected according to the color code and the sequence of the wire pairs (Figure 7.0.2-1). Both connection methods can be used; however, they shall not be 3 When terminating 4 pairs of twisted cables with non-RJ45 modules, they shall be clipped, according to the wire serial number and the composed wire pair (Figure 7.0.2-2, Figure 7.0.2-3). 4 The shielding layer of the shielded twisted pair cable shall be reliably contacted with the shielding cover at the termination of the connecting device, through fastening devices. The cable shielding layer shall be in 360° circumferential contact with the shielding cover of the connecting device; the contact length should not be less than 10 mm. 5 For different shielded twisted pairs or shielded cables, different termination methods shall be used for the shielding layer. The braid layer or metal foil shall be effectively terminated to the bus conductors. 6 The bottom box of the information socket should not be used also as a crossing box. 7.0.3 Optical fiber termination and splicing shall comply with the following requirements. 1 Optical fibers and connecting devices can be connected, by pigtail fusion splicing and mechanical connection; 2 Optical fiber and optical fiber can be connected by fusion splicing and optical connector connection methods; 3 The optical fiber’s fusion splicing shall be protected and fixed. 7.0.4 The termination of various types of jumpers shall comply with the following requirements. 1 There shall be good contact between various jumper cables and connecting devices; the wiring connection is correct; the sign is complete. The type of jumper selected shall meet the system design requirements. 2 The length and performance parameters of various types of jumpers shall comply with the requirements of the design documents.

8 Engineering electrical testing

8.0.1 The electrical testing of generic cabling work shall include electrical performance testing of cabling systems and performance testing of optical fiber cabling systems. 8.0.2 Generic cabling system’s engineering testing shall be carried out along with the work. 8.0.3 The permanent link, CP link, channel testing of the twisted pair cabling system shall comply with the following requirements. 1 For the generic cabling work, it shall conduct permanent link testing for each completed information point. When the trunk cable uses cable, it can also be tested, according to the connection model of the permanent link. 2 When performing quality certification of cable links to be used or in use, including equipment cables and jumpers, testing may be conducted on a channel basis. 3 Component-level testing can be performed, when certifying jumpers and equipment cables. 4 For the twisted pair cabling system link or channels, it shall test the index parameters, such as the length, connection diagram, return loss, insertion loss, near end crosstalk attenuation, power sum near end crosstalk attenuation, attenuation to crosstalk ratio at the far-end, power sum attenuation to crosstalk ratio at the far- end, attenuation to crosstalk ratio at the near-end, power sum attenuation to crosstalk ratio at the near-end, loop resistance, delay, delay deviation, etc. The index parameters shall comply with the provisions of Appendix B of this Code. 5 When site conditions permit, it should carry out random tests, for the external power sum attenuation to crosstalk ratio at the near-end (PS ANEXT) and external power sum attenuation to crosstalk ratio at the far-end (PS AACR-F) of EA class and FA class twisted pair cabling systems. 6 The shielded cabling system shall comply with the test content, which is specified in item 4 of Article 8.0.3 of this Code. It shall also test the conductive performance of the shielding layer. When shielded cabling systems are used in industrial Ethernet and data centers, virtual grounding shall also be excluded. 7 When the twisted pair cabling system is used in scenarios such as industrial Ethernet, POE, high-speed channels, it can detect shielding characteristic indicators such as TCL, ELTCTL, unbalanced resistance, coupling attenuation. 8.0.4 Performance testing of optical fiber cabling systems shall comply with the following requirements. 1 Each optical fiber link in the optical fiber cabling system shall be tested. The attenuation of the channel or link shall comply with the provisions of Appendix C of this Code; it shall record the optical fiber length, which is obtained by the test; 2 When OM3 and OM4 optical fibers are used in links of 10 Gbit/s and above, transmitting and receiving compensation optical fibers shall be used for bidirectional OTDR testing; 3 When the testing results of the performance indicators of the optical fiber cabling system cannot meet the design requirements, it should conduct fault positioning test, through the OTDR test curve. 8.0.5 In the fiber-to-subscriber unit system engineering, it shall test each optical fiber link between the user access point and the user unit information distribution box; the attenuation index should be tested, using the insertion loss method. 8.0.6 The functions of the cabling system field tester shall comply with the following requirements.

9 Management system acceptance

9.0.1 The cabling management system should be graded, according to the following provisions. 1 The grade I management shall be targeted at the system in a single telecommunications room or equipment room; 2 The grade II management shall be targeted at systems in multiple telecommunications rooms or equipment rooms in the same building; 3 The grade III management shall be targeted at system of multiple buildings in the same building complex, meanwhile it shall include internal and external systems of the building; 4 The grade IV management shall be targeted at systems for multiple building complexes. 9.0.2 The generic cabling management system shall comply with the following requirements. 1 The selection of management system grade shall comply with the design requirements; 2 Each component that needs to be managed shall be set with a label and represented by a unique identifier. The setting of the identifier and label shall meet the design requirements; 3 The record documents of the management system shall be detailed, complete, in Chinese; they shall also include information, records, reports, drawings, etc. related to each identifier; 4 Management systems at different levels can use general spreadsheets, special management software or intelligent wiring systems, for maintenance and management. 9.0.3 The setting of identifiers and labels of the generic cabling management system shall comply with the following provisions. ......
