1 Scope

This Standard specifies the measurement methods for low frequency magnetic field emission in automotive environment where human beings are exposed to. The frequency range involved in this Standard is 10 Hz ~ 400 kHz. This Standard is applicable to Type-L, Type-M and Type-N vehicle. This Standard is not applicable to measurement of vehicle under wireless charging status.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions, and what is defined in GB/T 3730.1, GB/T 4365- 2003, GB/T 5337, GB 8702-2014, GB/T 15089, GB 18285-2005, GB/T 19596 and GB/T 29259 are applicable to this document. 3.1 Magnetic Induction Strength Vector field B, whose force acting on charged particle at a certain speed equals to the product of speed and vector B, and further multiplying with particle charge. It shall be expressed in Tesla (T). 3.2 General Public Exposure General public exposure refers to all the electric field, magnetic field and electromagnetic field irradiation exposed to the public, excluding occupational exposure and medical exposure. 3.3 Internal Combustion Engine Internal combustion engine refers to a machine which transforms chemical energy of fuel combustion to thermal energy, then, transforms thermal energy to mechanical energy. Furthermore, this energy transformation process is conducted inside engine cylinder. 3.4 Internal Combustion Engine Vehicle; ICEV Internal combustion engine vehicle refers to vehicle, whose power is completely provided by internal combustion engine. 3.5 Idling Idling refers to engine’s unloaded operation status. Under idling status, the clutch is in a joint position, the transmission is in a neutral position (vehicle with automatic transmission shall be in “parking” or “P” gear position); in terms of vehicle which adopts carburetor oil supply system, the damper shall be in a fully open position; accelerator pedal shall be in a fully loosened position. 3.6 Standby Standby refers to when the driving motor system is under high voltage power-on status, but the driving motor is not being operated.

4 General Regulations

4.1 Ambient Conditions During the test, ambient temperature shall be -7 °C ~ 35 °C. 4.2 Disturbance Source The measurement in this Standard is applicable to long-term disturbance sources (such as front wiper motor and warm air motor). It is not applicable to short-term disturbance sources (electric rearview mirror, electric window, electric horn and hazard warning lamp). 4.3 Limit Requirements Reference limit requirements of the measurement shall refer to Table A.1, Table A.2 and Table A.3 in Appendix A. 4.4 Measurement Site The measurement can be conducted with indoor dynamometer or outdoor flat and dry pavement. The gradient of outdoor pavement shall be -2% ~ +2%. In the measurement site environment, magnetic induction strength shall be lower than 10% of the limit value in Appendix B. If the measurement is conducted with dynamometer, road load shall be set up in accordance with vehicle’s reconditioning quality. 4.5 Measurement Instruments Measurement instruments shall be able to conduct magnetic field measurement. The frequency range shall satisfy the requirement of 10 Hz ~ 400 kHz. Magnetic field probe shall be isotropic; the external diameter shall not exceed 13 cm.

5 Measurement Position

5.1 Measurement Position of Type-M Passenger Vehicle 5.1.1 Measurement position in stationary state and driving state Measurement position of type-M passenger vehicle in stationary state and driving state is shown in Figure 1.It includes. 5.1.2 Measurement position in charging state Measurement position of type-M passenger vehicle in charging state is shown in Figure 5.It includes. 5.2 Measurement Position of Type-M Commercial Vehicle (bus) 5.2.1 Measurement position in stationary state and driving state Measurement position of type-M commercial vehicle (bus) in stationary state and driving state is shown in Figure 7.It includes. 5.2.2 Measurement position in charging state Measurement position of type-M commercial vehicle (bus) in charging state is shown in Figure 8.It includes. 5.3 Measurement Position of Type-N Commercial Vehicle (truck) Measurement position of type-N commercial vehicle (truck) in stationary state and driving state includes fixed test-spots on various seats in driver’s cab, corresponding foot space area test-spots of various seats and sleeping berth area. 5.4 Measurement Position of Type-L Motor Vehicle Measurement position of type-L (less than four wheels) motor vehicle in stationary state and driving state shall be driver’s standard position. the following three specific fixed test-spots. d) human body’s head; e) trunk’s center; f) center of riding position, as it is shown in Figure 10[1].

6 Measurement Procedure

6.1 Measurement in Stationary State 6.1.1 Vehicle state All the vehicle-mounted electrical appliances that can be manually opened by driver or passenger and continuously work for over 60 s shall be in typical loaded state. The recommended state shall at least include. 6.1.2 Measurement methods 6.1.2.1 Measurement methods of time domain Please see the measurement methods and steps of time domain below. 6.1.2.2 Measurement methods of frequency domain Please see the measurement methods and steps of frequency domain below. 6.2 Measurement in Driving State 6.2.1 Vehicle state All the vehicle-mounted electrical appliances that can be manually opened by driver or passenger and continuously work for over 60 s shall be in typical loaded state. The recommended state is as follows. 6.2.2 Measurement methods Same as 6.1.2. 6.3 Measurement in Charging State 6.3.1 Vehicle state Vehicle shall be in OFF gear. Shut down all the vehicle-mounted electrical appliances that can be manually opened by driver or passenger. Vehicle’s SOC shall be 20% ~ 80%. If there are multiple conductive charging states, measure respectively; under the various charging states, charging current shall be more than 80% of the rated charging current. 6.3.2 Measurement methods Same as 6.1.2. 6.4 Measurement Procedure The typical measurement procedure of measurement methods stipulated in this Standard is shown in Figure 11.
