Foreword

This document was drafted in accordance with the rules provided in GB/T 1.1-2020 Directives for Standardization - Part 1.Rules for the Structure and Drafting of Standardizing Documents. This document serves as a replacement GB/T 33145-2016 Large Capacity Seamless Steel Gas Cylinders. In comparison with GB/T 33145-2016, apart from structural adjustments and editorial modifications, the main technical changes are as follows. a) The upper limit of the nominal operating pressure in the Scope of this document is modified from 30 MPa into 35 MPa. “Steel cylinders with a nominal capacity greater than 3,000 L, and less than or equal to 4,200 L may take the relevant stipulations of this document as a reference” is added to the Scope of this document (see Chapter 1; Chapter 1 of Version 2016); b) The upper limit of the nominal diameter of steel cylinders is modified (see Table 1; Table 1 of Version 2016); c) The nominal bursting pressure of the bursting disc of the safety relief device is adjusted to 1.5 times the nominal operating pressure p of gas cylinders (see 5.2.5.2; 5.2.5.2 of Version 2016). This document was drafted with reference to ISO 11120.2015 Gas cylinders - Refillable seamless steel tubes of water capacity between 150 L and 3,000 L - Design, construction and testing. The degree of consistency with ISO 11120.2015 is non-equivalent. Please be noted that certain content of this document may involve patents. 1 Scope

This document specifies the type and parameters, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, coating, packaging, transportation and storage of large capacity seamless steel gas cylinders (hereinafter referred to as the “gas cylinders”). This document is applicable to mobile gas cylinders that can be refilled with compressed gas or liquefied gas, which are used under a normal ambient temperature of 40 C ~ +60 C, and with a nominal operating pressure of 10 MPa ~ 35 MPa, and a nominal water capacity greater than 150 L, and less than or equal to 3,000 L. Steel cylinders with a nominal capacity greater than 3,000 L, and less than or equal to 4,200 L may take the relevant stipulations of this document as a reference.

3 Terms, Definitions and Symbols

3.1 Terms and Definitions What is defined in GB/T 13005, and the following terms and definitions are applicable to this document. 3.2 Symbols The following symbols are applicable to this document. 4 Type, Parameters and Model

4.1 Type Generally, the structural type of the cylinder body is shown in Figure 1. Figure 1 -- Structural Type of Cylinder Body 4.2 Parameters Generally, the nominal water capacity and nominal diameter of the gas cylinders shall comply with the stipulations of Table 1. 4.3 Model The model of the gas cylinder is composed of the following parts.

5 Technical Requirements

5.1 Materials 5.1.1 Cylinder body 5.1.1.1 The materials used to manufacture the cylinder body shall be non-aging killed steel that is subject to off-furnace refining by electric arc furnace and vacuum refining treatment, or off- furnace refining by an oxygen converter and vacuum refining treatment. 5.1.1.2 The selection of the cylinder body materials shall be compatible with the medium that it contains. 5.1.1.6 The manufacturing organization of seamless steel pipes shall provide a quality certificate for seamless steel pipes and steel billets, or a quality certificate of seamless steel pipes with quality certification information of steel billets. 5.1.2 Screw plug 5.2 Design 5.2.1 General stipulations 5.2.1.1 The steel cylinders are only allowed to contain compressed gas or liquefied gas that is compatible with the cylinder material and complies with the corresponding standards; when the steel cylinders contain compressed natural gas or hydrogen, the compressed natural gas as vehicle fuel shall comply with the stipulations of GB 18047, and the compressed natural gas for civilian use shall comply with the stipulations of Class I and Class II natural gas in GB 17820-2018; the hydrogen shall comply with the stipulations of GB/T 3634.1 or GB/T 3634.2 or GB/T 37244. 5.2.2 Calculation of cylinder body wall thickness The minimum design wall thickness a of the cylinder body shall be calculated in accordance with Formula (1). 5.2.4 Bottlenecks 5.2.4.1 The bottlenecks at both ends of the steel cylinder shall be connected with threads that comply with the corresponding standards. The following threads can be adopted. 5.2.5 Safety relief device 5.2.6 Screw plug The screw plugs at both ends of the steel cylinder shall be made of forgings and shall comply with the stipulations of Class III forgings in NB/T 47008-2017 and NB/T 47010-2017. 5.3 Manufacturing 5.3.1 General requirements 5.3.1.1 The manufacturing of the steel cylinders shall comply with the stipulations of this document, and the stipulations of product drawings and relevant technical documents. 5.3.6 Hardness test The cylinder body and test rings heat-treated in the same batch with the same furnace shall be tested for hardness one by one after heat treatment. 5.3.7 Hydrostatic test After the bottleneck of the cylinder body is subject to thread machining, the external hydrostatic test shall be carried out one by one. 5.3.8 Non-destructive testing The cylinder body shall undergo online 100% ultrasonic testing and 100% magnetic particle testing one by one.

6 Test Methods

6.1 Wall Thickness and Manufacturing Tolerances The cylinder body shall be subject to full coverage ultrasonic thickness measurement on ultrasonic testing equipment in accordance with GB/T 11344. 6.2 Interior and Exterior Conduct visual inspection on the internal and external surfaces. The inner surface can be inspected with the aid of an endoscopic light or endoscope. 6.3 Bottleneck Thread The bottleneck thread shall be inspected for thread dimensions and tolerances using the corresponding thread gauge. In accordance with the methods specified in NB/T 47013.4-2015 or NB/T 47013.5-2015, conduct magnetic particle testing or penetrant testing on the thread surface. 6.4 Determination of Various Performance Indicators after Heat Treatment of Cylinder Body 6.4.1 Sampling 6.4.2 Tensile test 6.4.2.1 The determination items of the test include tensile strength, yield strength and elongation after break. 6.4.2.2 The test adopts full-wall thickness longitudinal arc-shaped specimens. The shape and dimensions of the specimens shall comply with the stipulations of Figure 3.Except at the clamped ends, the specimens shall not be flattened. 6.4.3 Impact test 6.4.3.1 Specimens shall be taken close to the inner wall. 6.4.4 Metallographic examination 6.4.4.1 The preparation and test methods of the specimens shall comply with GB/T 13298. 6.4.4.2 The microstructure shall be evaluated in accordance with GB/T 13320. 6.4.4.3 The grain size shall be evaluated in accordance with GB/T 6394-2017. 6.4.4.4 The depth of the decarburized layer shall be determined in accordance with GB/T 224. 6.4.5 Flattening test 6.4.6 Cold bending test 6.4.6.1 After repeated heat treatment, when the remaining length of the test ring is not enough for the cutting of the flattening test sample ring, it is allowed to adopt the cold bending test instead of the flattening test. 6.4.6.2 From the symmetrical part of the test ring, along the circumferential direction, take two bending specimens with an arc length of 300 mm and a width of 80 mm. The arc surface on the specimen representing the inner and outer walls of the cylinder bottle is not machined. 6.4.6.3 The cold bending test shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T 232.The bending center diameter equals to twice the measured average thickness of the cold bending specimens, and the bending angle is 180. The schematic diagram of the cold bending test is shown in Figure 5.

7 Inspection Rules

7.1 Judgment Bases of Tests and Inspections 7.1.1 Wall thickness and manufacturing tolerances 7.1.1.1 The wall thickness shall not be lower than the minimum design wall thickness, and the wall thickness deviation of the cylinder body shall not exceed +20%. 7.1.2.2 There shall be no visible shrinkage cavities, wrinkles, protrusions and oxide scales on the inner and outer surfaces of the ends. The end defects are allowed to be removed by mechanical processing methods, but the design wall thickness of the ends shall be ensured. 7.1.2.3 There shall be a smooth transition between the end and the cylinder body, and no groove marks are allowed on the shoulder part. 7.1.3 Bottleneck thread 7.1.3.1 The thread profile, dimensions and tolerances shall comply with the stipulations of relevant standards. 7.1.4 Determination of various performance indicators after heat treatment of cylinder body 7.2 Inspection One by One Each steel cylinder manufactured in the same batch shall be inspected one by one. The inspection items shall comply with the stipulations of Table 6. 7.3 Batch Test Before exiting the factory, the steel cylinders shall be subject to batch inspection. The inspection items shall comply with the stipulations of Table 6. 7.4 Type Test 7.4.1 Under one of the following circumstances, the steel cylinders shall undergo type test. 7.4.2 Type test shall be carried out in accordance with the items specified in Table 6.If the product fails the type test, it shall not be put into mass production or put into use.

8 Marking, Coating, Packaging, Transportation and Storage

8.1 Marking 8.1.1 Steel seal mark 8.1.2 Colored mark Comply with GB/T 7144. 8.1.3 Electronic identification mark of steel cylinder 8.2 Coating 8.2.1 Before coating, the surface of the steel cylinder shall be treated, so as to remove rust, oxide scales, greasy dirt and other impurities. The surface quality shall reach Level Sa2.5 specified in GB/T 8923.1-2011, and coating can be performed under dry conditions. 8.3 Packaging 8.3.1 When exiting the factory, the steel cylinder usually includes the cylinder body, screw plugs at both ends and other accessories. Protective measures shall be taken for all accessories and the threads at both ends of the cylinder body, so as to prevent collision damage. 8.4 Transportation 8.4.1 The transportation of the steel cylinders shall comply with the relevant stipulations on road transportation. 8.4.2 During transportation, loading and unloading of the steel cylinders, they shall be protected from collision, moisture and damage to accessories. 8.5 Storage

9 Product Certificate, Instruction Manual and Batch Inspection Quality Certificate

9.1 Product Certificate 9.1.1 Each steel cylinder exiting the factory shall be accompanied by a product certificate, and a product instruction manual shall be provided to users. 9.1.2 The product certificate of exiting-factory product shall at least include the following contents. 9.2 Product Instruction Manual It shall at least include the following contents. 9.3 Batch Inspection Quality Certificate 9.3.1 The content of the batch inspection quality certificate shall include the batch inspection items specified in this document. ......
