For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies. GB/T 2900.1, Electrotechnical terminology Fundamental terms GB/T 9637, Electrotechnical terminology - Magnetic materials and components GB/T 13012, Methods of measurement of d.c. magnetic properties of magnetically soft materials GB/T 15019, Designation and classification of rapidly quenched metals

3 Terms and definitions

For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions specified in GB/T 2900.1, GB/T 9637, GB/T 15019, GB/T 19345.1-2017 and GB/T 19346.1 as well as the followings apply. 3.1 specific total loss the total power absorbed by the homogeneous magnetized material per unit mass, in watts per kilogram (W/kg) 3.2 lamination factor the ratio of the cross-sectional area of the magnetic material to the total cross- sectional area of the stack 3.3 semi-processed the product state of which the final heat treatment is not carried out in delivery but performed by user

4 Classification and designation display method

The designation of the strip uses a combination of five fields and a connector. The definition of each field is as follows.

5 General requirements

5.1 Production process The production process and chemical composition of the strips are decided by the supplier. 5.2 Delivery form 5.2.1 The strips are usually delivered in coils. The size and weight of the coil can be negotiated by both parties and indicated in the contract. 5.2.4 The ends of the strips shall be free of rusts, fingerprints, foreign material, damage. 5.2.5 The strips shall be wound tightly, no local relaxation, no wrinkles, no collapse, no falling off during handling due to self-weight, no lateral offset during unwinding. 5.2.7 The particular requirements for strip delivery form shall be determined by the supplier and the purchaser. 5.3 Delivery conditions The strips are normally delivered in non-sheared semi-processed state (prepared state) with the absence of a top coat. The particular requirements for strip delivery form shall be determined by the supplier and the purchaser. 5.4 Surface quality 5.5 Shear adaptability When using suitable equipment for cutting, any part of the strips shall be able to be cut into the usual shape.

6 Technical requirements

6.1 Physical properties 6.1.1 The strips delivered in the semi-processed state (prepared state) shall be heat-treated properly to obtain the desired magnetic properties. 6.1.2 The magnetic properties of the strips shall comply with the provisions of Table 1, Table 2, Table 3 and Table 4.The heat treatment process is provided by the supplier and indicated in the quality certificate. Any particular requirements for magnetic properties may be determined by the supplier and the purchaser. 6.1.3 See Table A.1 for other basic physical parameters of the strips. 6.2 Geometric characteristics 6.2.1 Thickness and allowable deviation 6.2.1.1 The nominal thicknesses of the strips are 0.014 mm, 0.018 mm, 0.022 mm, 0.026 mm and 0.030 mm. 6.2.1.2 The allowable thickness deviation of the strips shall comply with Table 5.The particular requirements shall be determined by the supplier and the purchaser. 6.2.2 Width and allowable deviation 6.2.2.1 The width scope of the strips is 0.5mm ~ 150mm. The specific size shall be determined in the contract. 6.2.2.2 The width of the longitudinal shear strip allows a tolerance of ± 0.10 mm. The particular requirements shall be determined by the supplier and the purchaser. 6.2.2.3 The width tolerance of non-shear strip shall comply with the provisions of Table 6.The particular requirements shall be determined by the supplier and the purchaser. 6.3 Technical characteristics 6.3.1 Density The density used for the calculations of strip magnetic properties and lamination factor is supplied by the supplier. 6.3.3 Toughness After the strip sample is inspected according to 7.3.3.2 of this Part, in all 19 fracture points on the sample, the number of visually cracked fracture points shall not exceed 3.

7 Inspection and testing

7.1 General requirements 7.1.1 The strips shall be submitted for inspection and testing. Each casting furnace is an acceptance batch. 7.2 Sampling 7.2.1 It shall extract a sample respectively on the head, the end of each batch of the strips. When more than one coil is continuously produced in a casting furnace, a sample shall be taken at the end of each coil. The particular requirements shall be determined by the supplier and the purchaser. 7.2.2 The sample shall not have folds, pits, cracks and other defects due to mechanical damage. The surface of the sample shall be clean. 7.3 Sample preparation 7.3.1 Physical properties Wind the strip taken into a ring sample according to the methods specified in GB/T 13012 and GB/T 19346.1. 7.3.2 Geometric characteristics The sample used to measure the geometry is typically a continuous strip of 200 mm in length. 7.3.3 Technical characteristics 7.3.3.1 Lamination factor The sample used to measure the lamination factor is usually a continuous strip of 10 m in length. 7.4 Measurement method 7.4.1 Physical properties 7.4.1.1 The measurement method of using a toroidal sample to measure DC magnetic properties shall be in accordance with GB/T 13012. 7.4.1.2 The measurement method of using a toroidal sample to measure AC magnetic properties shall be in accordance with GB/T 19346.1. 7.4.2 Geometric characteristics 7.4.3 Technical characteristics 7.4.3.1 The measurement method for lamination factor shall be in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 19346.2. 7.5 Re-inspection and determination rules If an inspection item fails, it shall allow to take samples double the number for the re-inspection. Should an item fail in the re-inspection results, this batch of strips shall be unqualified.

8 Packaging, storage, marks and quality certificate

8.1 Packaging The strip coil shall use moisture-proof packaging to ensure that the strips do not have quality degradation due to corrosion within 6 months under unopened conditions. The strip coil shall be packed into the packaging box and be ensured not to move. Packaging boxes shall be easy for mechanical handling. It shall ensure that the coil is not damaged during storage and transport. 8.3 Marks The reel and packaging box of strip coil shall have firm mark that meets the traceability requirements. 8.4 Quality certificate Each batch of strips delivered shall be attached with quality certificate that proves that this batch of strips comply with the provisions of this Part and order contract.
