Foreword

GB/T 10357 "Test of mechanical properties of furniture" is divided into eight parts. - Part 1.Strength and durability of tables; - Part 2.Stability of stools; - Part 3.Strength and durability of stools; - Part 4.Stability of cabinets; - Part 5.Strength and durability of cabinets; - Part 6.Strength and durability of beds; - Part 7.Stability of tables; - Part 8.Stability of chairs and rocking chairs which have inclining and reclining mechanical properties when they are fully leaned backward. This Part is Part 7 of GB/T 10357. This Part is drafted in accordance with the given rules of GB/T 1.1-2009. This Part replaces GB/T 10357.7-1995 "Test of mechanical properties of furniture - Stability of tables." Compared with GB/T 10357.7-1995, main technical changes of this Part are as follows. - MODIFY the scope; - “This Standard” is revised to “this Part”; - ADD requirements of loading equipment; - MODIFY the test tolerance; - ADD the test requirements when the table has drawers; - DELETE the last chapter of test report; - The Appendix is revised to be normative Appendix. Please note that some of the contents of this document may involve patents. The issuing organizations of this document do not assume responsibility for the identification of these patents. This Part was proposed by China Light Industry Federation. This Part shall be administered by National Furniture Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC 480). Drafting organizations of this Part. Hangzhou Juri Furniture Industry Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Yasha Industrial Park Development Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Luo Danni Furniture Co., Ltd., Shanghai Quality Supervision and Inspection Technology Institute (National Furniture Quality Supervision and Inspection Center), Zhejiang Forestry University, and Wenzhou Vocational and Technical College. Main drafters of this Part. Li Guanyiao, Zhou Guansong, Xu Ting, Luo Jufen, Dong Caihong, Dai Zhong, Li Song, and Liu Min. The previous standard replaced by this Part is as follows. - GB/T 10357.7-1995. Test of mechanical properties of furniture - Part 7.Stability of tables

1 Scope

This Part of GB/T 10357 specifies the test method of loading stability of tables. This Part applies to the tables which have no fixed connection with ground, buildings, and furniture etc.

2 General test conditions

2.1 Specimen Specimens shall be finished product, all connections and fasteners shall be securely mounted in accordance with using state before testing. 2.2 Test tolerance Except that there are other specific provisions, measurement error of all loading force is ± 5%; measurement error of all dimensions is ± 1 mm; error of withstanding position shall be controlled within ± 2 mm.

3 Test facility

3.1 Loading equipment The equipment that can be ensured to be loaded correctly according to the provisions of this Part can be used. Loading equipment can provide a vertical or horizontal loading force, this force may be fixed or gradually increasing. 3.2 Loading pad Loading pad is a rigid flat circular object with the diameter of 100 mm, the rounding radius of loading surface’s surrounding is 12 mm. The weight of loading pad shall be counted when loading. 3.3 Stopping block Stopping block is used to prevent the movement of specimen, however, it shall not hinder the specimen to capsize. Its height shall not be greater than 12mm, if the structure of the specimen is special, higher stopping block is allowed, however, its height shall be just enough to prevent the specimen from moving. 3.4 Ground requirements of test position The base surface of placing the specimen shall be horizontal, flat and rigid.

4 Test procedure

4.1 Vertical loading stability test PUT the specimen on test base surface, USE the stopping block to block the most unstable leg of the table, so as to prevent the specimen from moving when testing. 4.2 Vertical and horizontal load stability test PUT the specimen on the test based surface. BLOCK the leg of the most unstable side by stopping block, so as to prevent movement of the specimen when testing.

Appendix A

(Normative) Minimum loading force of stability of typical tables Minimum loading force of stability of typical tables shall accord with the provisions of Table A.1. ......
