GB/T 34370, Nondestructive testing of amusement equipment, comprises 6 parts as
follows.

This Part is Part 1 of GB/T 34370.
This Part was proposed by and shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical
Committee 250 on Cableways and Amusement Equipment of Standardization
Administration of China (SAC/TC 250).

Part 1.General requirement
1 Scope
This Part of GB/T 34370 specifies the general requirements and using principles for
the nondestructive testing methods of amusement equipment, such as visual
examination, magnetic particle testing, penetrant testing, ultrasonic testing,
radiographic testing, eddy current testing, acoustic emission testing, magnetic flux
leakage testing, magnetic memory testing and ultrasonic guided-wave testing.
This Part applies to the nondestructive testing of amusement equipment in
manufacture and in use.
2 Normative references
The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this
document. For dated references, only the edition dated applies to this document. For
undated references, the latest edition of the referenced documents (including all
amendments) applies to this document.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions defined in GB/T 5616,
GB/T 12604.1 ~ GB/T 12604.6, GB/T 12604.10, GB/T 20306, GB/T 20737, GB/T
34370.2 ~ GB/T 34370.6, apply.
4 Using principles
4.1 General
4.1.1 An appropriate nondestructive testing method shall be selected in accordance
with the material, structure, manufacturing method, using environment, using
conditions and damage mode of equipment to be tested, and the type, shape, location
and direction of possible defects which are expected to occur.
4.1.2 Visual examination is usually the first test method used during the test process
of amusement equipment.
4.1.4 When carrying out testing using the same testing method in accordance with
different testing processes, the evaluation result giving the maximum risk shall prevail
if the severity degrees of defects detected are different.
4.2 Visual examination
4.2.1 Visual examination applies to the testing of parts and welds of all materials. It
can detect corrosion, crack, damage, abrasion, deformation and other macroscopic
damages, abnormal matching, traces of overheating and leakage, mascroscopic
imperfection of welds, and so on.
4.3 Magnetic particle testing
4.4 Penetrant testing
4.4.1 Penetrant testing applies to the testing of the surface open defects of plates
(including composite boards), forgings, castings, pipes and welded joints. Penetrant
testing does not apply to the testing of porous materials. It can determine the location,
size and shape of surface open defects.
4.4.2 The specific technical requirements for penetrant testing shall be as specified
in GB/T 34370.4.
4.5 Ultrasonic testing
4.6 Radiographic testing
4.6.1 Radiographic testing applies to the testing of internal defects of butt welded
joints of full penetration fusion welding. It can determine the location and size of defect
plane projections and the nature of defects.
4.6.2 For the thickness range of iron-based materials which can be tested by different
radiation sources, see Table 2.
4.6.3 The specific technical requirements for radiographic testing shall be as
specified in GB/T 34370.6.
5 Testing organizations
5.1 Testing organizations and manufacturers (hereinafter referred to as testing
organizations) carrying out inspection and testing of nondestructive testing of
amusement equipment, shall obtain the qualifications in accordance with relevant laws
and regulations of China.
5.2 Nondestructive testing organizations shall establish nondestructive testing
procedures of relevant methods as specified in this Part and GB/T 34370.2 ~ GB/T
34370.6.
5.3 Testing record and report shall be accurate, complete, and shall be signed by
testing personnel having the qualification.
6 Testing personnel
6.1 The personnel of nondestructive testing of amusement equipment shall obtain
the corresponding nondestructive testing qualifications in accordance with relevant
laws and regulations of China.
6.2 The qualification levels of nondestructive testing personnel include level III (high),
level II (medium) and level I (basic).
7 Testing apparatus and materials
7.1 The apparatus and materials for nondestructive testing shall be accompanied by
the product quality compliance certificate.
7.2 The apparatus and materials for nondestructive testing shall comply with their
corresponding product standards and their properties shall meet relevant requirements
of GB/T 34370.2 ~ GB/T 34370.6.
7.4 Each time before nondestructive testing, the items, timing and property indexes
of testing to be tested shall meet relevant requirements of all parts of this Standard.
8 Testing procedures
8.1 General
The procedures of nondestructive testing include general technological procedures
and operation cards.
8.2 General technological procedures
8.2.1 The general technological procedures of nondestructive testing shall be
compiled in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, product standards, this
Part and the methods specified in GB/T 34370.2 ~ GB/T 34370.6.
8.2.3 The compilation, verification and approval of general technological procedures
of nondestructive testing shall be as specified in relevant laws, regulations or standards;
they shall be compiled by personnel of level II or level III, examined by personnel of
level III and approved by the technical director.
8.3 Operation cards
8.3.3 The compilation and examination of the operation cards of nondestructive
testing shall meet relevant laws, regulations or standards. The compilation of operation
cards shall be carried out by the personnel having the qualifications of level II and
above, in accordance with general technological procedures and examined by the
director of nondestructive testing.
9 Record and report
Prepare record and report of nondestructive testing and implement as specified in
GB/T 34370.2 ~ GB/T 34370.6.
