Summary This standard specifies aluminum welding containers (including housing component of aluminum, aluminum lined container) design, manufacture, testing, inspection requirements. This standard applies to pressure vessel design pressure of not more than 8MPa pressure vessel. This standard applies the design temperature range allowed by aluminum Temperature OK. This standard does not apply to the following types of containers: a) direct flame heating container, b) nuclear devices container, c) as rotating or reciprocating moving machinery and equipment component parts pressure chamber (such as centrifugal pumps shell cylinder reciprocating pump, compressor cylinder, cylinder chillers, blowers shell, centrifuge drum -), d) often carry container, e) inside diameter (for non- circular cross-section, refers to the width, height, or diagonal, such as rectangular diagonal, ellipse major axis) is less than 150mm container, f) requirements for fatigue analysis container. That can not be used to determine the structure of the standard size pressure components, design allows the following methods, but subject to the National Standardization Technical Committee of the pressure vessel assessment, accreditation: including the finite element method stress analysis, confirmatory experimental analysis (such as experimental stress analysis, confirmatory hydraulic test), using comparable already in use comparative experience in structural design.

Aluminium Welded Vessels
1 Scope
This standard specifies the requirements for the design, manufacturing, inspection and acceptance
of aluminium welded vessels (including vessels with such components as enclosure made of aluminium
or line with aluminium).
1.1 This standard is applicable to the atmospheric pressure vessels and the pressure vessels with
design pressure no larger than 8MPa.
1.2 The design temperature range applicable to this standard shall be determined according to the
allowable service temperature of aluminium products.
1.3 This standard is not applicable to the following various vessels .
a) Directly-fired vessels;
b) Vessels in the nuclear-energy plant;
c) Compression vessel chambers as the component parts of such motive mechanical equipments
with rotation or back and forward motion (such as centrifugal pump shell, cylinder body of reciprocating
pump, cylinder body of compressor, cylinder body of refrigerating machine, case of blower, wobbling
drum of centrifuge, etc .);
d) Frequently-transpo11ed vessels;
e) Vessels with internal diameter be less than l 50mm (means width, height or diagonal line for
the noncircular section, such as the diagonal line of rectangular or the major axis of ellipse);
f) Vessels requiring fatigue analysis.
1.4 For the compression components with structural dimension not being determined by this
standard, the following methods may be adopted in the design of these compression components, but
they shall be evaluated and approved by the National Technical Committee on Pressure Vessels of
Standardization Administration of China.
- - Stress analysis , including finite element method;
--Replication experiment analys is (such as experimental stress analysis and replication
hydrau I ic pressure test);
--Comparison empirical design by sing such comparable structures that have been in service.

3 General Provisions
3.1 The design, manufacturing, inspection and acceptance of the vessels shall not only be in
accordance with those specified in this standard, but also comply with the relevant laws and decrees
and regulations issued by the State.
3.2 Qualifications and Responsibilities
3.2.1 Qualifications
3.2.1.1 The design and manufacturing organizations of the vessels shall be with sound quality
management system. The design organization of pressure vessel shall hold the corresponding pressure
vessel design approval letter and the manufacturing organization possess hold the pressure vessel
manufacturing license.
3.2.1.2 The design and manufacturing of pressure vessels shall be under the superv1s1on of the
pressure vessel safety supervision mechanism.
3.2.2 Responsibilities
3.2.2.1 Responsibilities of design organization
3.2.2.1.1 The design organization shall be responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the design
document.
3.2.2.1.2 The vessel design documents shall at least include the design calculation book and design
drawing.
3.2.2.1.3 The general design drawing of design pressure vessel shall be stamped with the seal for
pressure vessel design qualification.
3.2.2.2 Responsibilities of manufacturing organization
3.2.2.2.1 The manufacturing organization shall manufacture in accordance with the requirements of
the design drawing and can modify the original design only with the approval of the original design
organization.
3.2.2.2.2 The inspection depm1ment of the manufacturing organization shall carry out vanous
specific inspections and tests for the vessels according to the requirements of this standard and
drawings during the manufacturing process or after the completion of vessels, propose the inspection
rep011 and be responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the repo11.
3.2.2.2.3 The manufacturing organization shall at least have the following technical documents of
each his vessel product for future reference. And the technical documents shall be kept for at least 7
years .
a) Manufacturing process drawing or fabrication dispatch;
b) Material supporting documents and material list;
c) Welding process records of the vessel;
d) Records on items for selection of manufacturer in this standard;
e) Inspection records during the manufacturing process and after the completion of the vessel;
f) Original design drawing and completion drawing of the vessel.
Note. Provided that the original design drawing is modified to form the completion drawing, it is treated that both the "original design
drawing and completion drawing" are available .
3.2.2.2.4 After obtaining the confinnation of inspection organization on that the vessel quality meets
the requirements of this standard and the drawings, the manufacturing organization shall fill in the
product quality certificate and submit it to the user.
3.3 Scope of Vessel
The scope of vessel as specified in this standard refers to the enclosure and all the spare pa1ts
connected to the enclosure as an entirety and shall be within the scope of 3.3.1~3.3.4 .
3.3.1 Connections between the vessel and the external pipe include.
a) The groove end face of the first pass of gilth joints with welded connection;
b) The end face of the first threaded connector with threaded connection;
c) The sealing surface of the first flange with flanged connection;
d) The first sealing surface of special connecting piece or pipe fitting connection.
