Standard for Structural Drawings
Issued on August 18, 2010 Implemented on March 1, 2011
Issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD)
and the General Administration of Quality Supervision,
Inspection and Quarantine (GAQSIQ) of the People's Republic
of China
Foreword
According to requirements of "on Notification of Printing and Publishing of [Development and
Revision Plan of Engineering Construction Standard in 2007 (first edition)]", China Institute of
Building Standard Design & Research together with organizations concerned revised the former
"Standard for structural drawings" GB/T 50105-2001 into this national standard.
In the process of revision, the drafting group of this standard carried out extensive investigation by
carefully summarizing practical experience, referring to relevant international standard and
foreign advanced standard and widely soliciting opinions and finally finalized the manuscript.
This standard consists of 5 chapters and an Appendix and the major technique content includes.
General Provisions, Basic Requirements, Concrete Structures, Steel Structures, and Wood
Structure.
Revised major technique of this standard consists of the following content. 1 added computer
CAD cartographic file, computer graphic layer and regularity of computer cartography; 2 added
figure lines; 3 added representation method of text noted member reinforcements complex joint of
the concrete structure; 4 added general requirements of steel structure working diagram and
decomposition and index of the complex joint detail drawing.
This national standard was in the charge of the administration of Ministry of Housing and
Urban-Rural Development and China Institute of Building Standard Design & Research is
responsible for the explanation of specific technical contents. If any complaint and suggestion
arise during the process of implementing this standard, please write to China Institute of Building
Standard Design & Research (Address. Zhuyu International, No.2 Building, Shouti South Road,
Hai Dian District, Beijing, Post Code. 100048).

11 General provisions
1.0.1 This standard is prepared to unify professional cartographic conventions of the building
structure, ensure the drawing regulation and quality, increase the drawing efficiency, the drawing
shall be distinct, concise, meet requirements of design, construction and files, meet engineering
construction requirements.
1.0.2 This standard is applicable to engineering drawings made via the following methods.
1 Manual drawing;
2 Computerized drawing
1.0.3 This standard is applicable to the following engineering drawings of the building structures.
1 Design drawings and drawing on completion of newly-built, rebuild and extension projects;
2 Surveyed drawings of former buildings and structures;
3 General design drawing, standard design drawing
1.0.4 Regularity of computerized drawing and layer management of the computerized drawing
shall conform to the relevant requirements of current national standard GB/T 50001 “Unified
standard for building drawings”.
1.0.5 Building structure drawing shall conform to this standard and comply with relevant current
standards of China as well.
2 Basic requirements
2.0.1 The drawing line width b shall conform to relevant provisions in the current national
standard "Unified standard for building drawings" GB/T 50001.
2.0.2 According to the complexity and proportion of the drawing, proper fundamental line width b
shall be firstly selected and then corresponding line width shall be selected. According to the
levels of the expression, the fundamental line width appropriate b and line width shall be added or
reduced appropriately.
2.0.3 Drawing of the building structure shall use the drawing line as shown in Table 2.0.3.
