Foreword
According to the requirements of Document JIANBIAO [2007) No . 125 issued by the original
Ministry of Construction-"Notice on Printing and Publishing the Development and Revision Plan of
National Engineering Construction Standards in 2007 (the first batch)' ', this standard is revised from
the former standard of "Standard for General Layout Drawings" GB/T 50103 - 2001 by China
Institute of Building Standard Design & Research jointly with all the organizations concerned.
During the revision process of this standard, the drafting group revised, examined and finalized
based on wide investigation and study, earnestly summarizing the practical experiences and making
reference to the relevant international standards and foreign advanced standards as well as extensively
soliciting for opinions.
This standard includes three chapters and the main technical contents include. General Provisions,
Basic Requirements and Legends.
The main revised technical contents in this standard are . CD the line contents and drawing scale
in basic requirements were adjusted; ® the legend contents were adjusted and added.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development is in charge of the administration of this
standard. China Institute of Building Standard Design & Research is responsible for the explanation
of specific technical contents . All relevant organizations are kindly requested to sum up and accumulate
your experiences in actual practices during the process of implementing this standard. The relevant

1 General Provisions
1.0.1 This standard is specially developed for the purpose of unifying professional drawing rules of
general layout, guaranteeing drawing quality, boosting drawing efficiency, realizing distinct and
concise drawings, meeting the requirements of design, construction and archiving as well as adapting
the requirements of engineering construction .
1.0.2 This standard is applicable to the patterns drawn by the following drawing methods.
1 Computerized drawing;
2 Manual drawing.
1.0.3 This standard is applicable to the following engineering drawings of general layout profession.
1 The general layout drawing in each stage of newly-built, rebuild and expanded projects
(drawing of site, park and landscape);
2 General layout surveyed drawing of former project;
3 Universal drawing and standard drawing of general layout;
4 The design drawing of site, park and landscape in each stage of newly-built, rebuild and
expanded projects.
1.0.4 The general layout drawing shall not only meet this standard, but also comply with those in the
current relevant ones of the nation.

2.5.2 Elevation marked in general layout shall · be the absolute elevation; if relative elevation is
marked, the conversion relation of relative elevation and absolute elevation shall be noted.
2.5.3 The elevation of relevant patis of buildings, structures , railways roads and pools shall be
marked according to the following requirements.
1 For marking indoor ±0.00 absolute elevation of a building, one ±0.00 elevation shall be
marked in one building; if there are different floor elevations, the value corresponding to ±0.00 shall
be marked;
2 For the outdoor apron of a building, the elevation on corners around building or two opposite
angle of apron slope shall be marked;
3 The structure shall be marked with representative elevation and noted with letters to indicate
the position;
4 Elevation of rail top shall be marked for railways;
5 The center line intersection point and grade change point elevation of pavement shall be
marked for roads;
6 Wall crown and wall toe elevations shall be marked for retaining wall; slope crest and slope
toe elevations shall be marked for side slope; ditch crown and ditch bottom elevations shall be marked
for drainage ditch;
7 For the flat site, the control position elevation shall be marked; for the paved site, the paving
elevation shall be marked.
2.5.4 The elevation symbols shall be marked according to the relevant requirements of current
national standard "Unified Standard for Building Drawings" GB/T 50001.
2.6 Name and Number
2.6.1 The buildings and structures on general layout shall be noted with names directly on the
drawing. If the pattern scale is small or the drawing dose not has sufficient place, those names may
also be numbered in the pattern . If the pattern is too small, those names may be marked in the outside
near the pattern.
2.6.2 Railway lines, railroad turnouts, railways and turning points of road curves on the general
layout shall be numbered.
2.6.3 Numbering of railway lines shall meet the following requirements.
1 Station line should be numbered from the station house to the outside; main line should be
represented by Roman characters and the station line should be represented by Arabic numbers;
2 Industrial railways shall be arranged according to drawing arrangement and numbered by
Arabic numbers;
3 The railways in open pit workings shall be numbered according to mining sequence; the
trunk line is represented by Roman characters and branch line is represented by Arabic numbers.
2.6.4 Numbering of railroad turnout shall meet the following requirements.
1 The turnouts are numbered in Arabic numbers;
2 The station turnouts should be numbered from off-station to in station; one end is odd
number and the other end is even number. If mileages are numbered, the come direction of mileage
should be odd number and the go direction should be even number. If mileages are not numbered, the
left end should be odd number and the right end should be even number.
2.6.5 Numbering of roads shall meet the following requirements.
1 The factories and mines roads should be numbered by Arabic number in circle in turn;
2 Approach roads should be added with -1 and -2 after above mentioned numbers.
2.6.6 The curve breaks of factories and mines railways shall be number by JD followed by Arabic
numbers in turn.
2.6.7 In one project, the site, building, structure, railway and road names noted in the whole set of
general layout drawing shall be the same; the above-mentioned name and number in each stage of
project shall be the same.
