Foreword
This Standard is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Standard replaces GB/T 2059-2008 “Sheet of copper and copper strip”.
Compared with GB/T 2059-2008, the main changes in this Standard are as follows.
- ADD the code name of copper and copper alloys;
- MODIFY the designation and state of alloys;
- ADD 3 designations, i.e. H66, BZn18-18 and BZn18-26, and the corresponding
requirements;
- ADD H08 state to designation QSn8-0.3;
- MODIFY the thickness and width range of some strips;
- MODIFY the mechanical property of some strips;
- DELETE the provisions of Rockwell hardness (HRB);
- MODIFY the “Dimension measurement method” TO “The test method for
dimension of strips is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 26303.3”;
- ADD the reference to YS/T 482 “Methods for analysis of copper and copper alloys
- The atomic emission spectrometry” and YS/T 483 “Methods for analysis of
copper and copper alloys - X-Ray fluorescence spectrometric (wavelength
dispersive)”;
- MODIFY the tensile test sample number according to the provisions of GB/T
228.1-2010;
- ADD the provision of “The sampling method shall comply with the provisions of
YS/T 668; the sample for mechanical properties and process performance shall
be prepared according to the provisions of YS/T 815”;
- ADD the provisions of the sampling direction of strips for bend test.

1 Scope
This Standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marking,
packaging, transportation, storage, quality certificates and order (or contract) contents
of copper and copper alloy strips.
This Standard applies to wrought copper and copper alloy strips for general purpose
(hereinafter referred to as strips).
2 Normative references
The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this
document. For dated references, only the dated edition cited applies. For undated
references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including all amendments)
applies.

3 Requirements
3.1 Product classification
3.1.1 Designation, state and specification
The designation, state and specification of strips shall comply with the provisions of
Table 1.

3.2 Chemical composition
The chemical composition of strips shall comply with the corresponding provisions in
GB/T 5231.
3.3 Dimension and its allowable deviation
The dimension and its allowable deviation of strips shall comply with the corresponding
provisions in GB/T 17793. The dimension and its allowable deviation exceeding the
range of GB/T 17793 shall be determined by negotiation between the supply and
demand parties.
3.4 Mechanical properties
The mechanical properties of strips at room temperature shall comply with the
provisions of Table 2.

4 Test method
4.1 Chemical composition
The analysis method for the chemical composition of strips shall comply with the
provisions of GB/T 5121 (all parts) or YS/T 482 or YS/T 483. The arbitration analysis
method for the chemical composition shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 5121
(all parts).
4.2 Dimension and its allowable deviation
The test method for the dimension and its allowable deviation of strips shall comply
with the provisions of GB/T 26303.3. The thickness of strips shall be measured at a
distance of ≥ 5 mm form the edge when the width of strips is > 100 mm; and measured
at a distance of ≥ 3 mm form the edge when the width of strips is ≤ 100 mm. Beyond
the measurement range, the excessive thickness deviation will not be used as the
basis for discard.
4.3 Mechanical properties
The tensile test method for strips shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 228.1-2010.
The samples shall comply with the provisions of P02 in Table B.1 of Annex B, GB/T
228.1-2010. The Vickers hardness test shall be carried out according to the provisions
of GB/T 4340.1.
4.4 Bend test
The bend test method for strips shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 232.
4.5 Electrical properties
4.5.1 The test method for resistivity of strips shall comply with the provisions of GB/T
351 or YS/T 478, and the arbitration shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 351.
4.5.2 The test method for resistance temperature coefficient of strips shall comply with
the provisions of GB/T 6148.
4.5.3 The test method for thermo-electromotive force strips shall comply with the
provisions of GB/T 6147.
4.6 Grain size
The test method for grain size of strips shall comply with the provisions of YS/T 347.
4.7 Surface quality
The surface quality of strips shall be inspected visually.
5 Inspection rules
5.1 Inspection and acceptance
5.1.1 The strips shall be inspected by the technical supervision department of the
supply party, to ensure that the product quality comply with the provisions of this
Standard (or the order contract); the quality certificate shall be filled.
5.1.2 The demand party shall re-inspect the products received in accordance with the
provisions of this Standard and the order (or contract). If the re-inspection result is
inconsistent with the provisions of this Standard and the order (or contract), the
demand party shall notify the supply party in paper form, to settle this issue through
negotiation between the supply and demand parties. The objection about surface
quality and dimensional deviation shall be raised within 1 month after receiving the
products; other objection about quality shall be raised within 3 months after receiving
the products. If arbitration is required, arbitration sampling will be conducted at the
demand party’s jointly by the supply and demand parties.
5.2 Batching
The strips shall be submitted for acceptance in batches, AND each batch shall be
composed of the same designation, state and specification. The weight of each batch
