Foreword
This Standard is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Standard replaces GB/T 2059-2008 “Sheet of copper and copper strip”.
Compared with GB/T 2059-2008, the main changes in this Standard are as follows.
- ADD the code name of copper and copper alloys;
- MODIFY the designation and state of alloys;
- ADD 3 designations, i.e. H66, BZn18-18 and BZn18-26, and the corresponding
requirements;
- ADD H08 state to designation QSn8-0.3;
- MODIFY the thickness and width range of some strips;
- MODIFY the mechanical property of some strips;
- DELETE the provisions of Rockwell hardness (HRB);
- MODIFY the “Dimension measurement method” TO “The test method for
dimension of strips is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 26303.3”;
- ADD the reference to YS/T 482 “Methods for analysis of copper and copper alloys
- The atomic emission spectrometry” and YS/T 483 “Methods for analysis of
copper and copper alloys - X-Ray fluorescence spectrometric (wavelength
dispersive)”;
- MODIFY the tensile test sample number according to the provisions of GB/T
228.1-2010;
- ADD the provision of “The sampling method shall comply with the provisions of
YS/T 668; the sample for mechanical properties and process performance shall
be prepared according to the provisions of YS/T 815”;
- ADD the provisions of the sampling direction of strips for bend test.
This Standard is proposed by China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association.

Copper and copper alloy strip
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marking,
packaging, transportation, storage, quality certificates and order (or contract) contents
of copper and copper alloy strips.
This Standard applies to wrought copper and copper alloy strips for general purpose
(hereinafter referred to as strips).
2 Normative references

document. For dated references, only the dated edition cited applies. For undated

3 Requirements
3.1 Product classification
3.2 Chemical composition
The chemical composition of strips shall comply with the corresponding provisions in GB/T 5231.
3.3 Dimension and its allowable deviation
The dimension and its allowable deviation of strips shall comply with the corresponding
provisions in GB/T 17793.
3.4 Mechanical properties
The mechanical properties of strips at room temperature shall comply with the provisions of Table 2.
3.5 Bend test
The strips of designation and state listed in Table 3 can be subjected to the bend test.
The bend test conditions shall comply with the provisions in Table 3.After the test, the
curved surface shall not have visible cracks.
3.6 Electrical properties
The strips of QMn1.5, BMn3-12, BMn40-1.5 designations can be subjected to the
electrical property test, and the electrical property shall comply with the provisions of Table 4.
3.7 Grain size
The strips of designation listed in Table 5 in the soft annealed (O60) state can be
subjected to the grain size inspection, and the grain size shall comply with the
provisions of Table 5.
3.8 Surface quality
4 Test method
4.1 Chemical composition
The analysis method for the chemical composition of strips shall comply with the
provisions of GB/T 5121 (all parts) or YS/T 482 or YS/T 483.The arbitration analysis
method for the chemical composition shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 5121
(all parts).
4.2 Dimension and its allowable deviation
The test method for the dimension and its allowable deviation of strips shall comply
with the provisions of GB/T 26303.3.
4.3 Mechanical properties
The tensile test method for strips shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 228.1-2010.
The samples shall comply with the provisions of P02 in Table B.1 of Annex B, GB/T
228.1-2010.
4.6 Grain size
The test method for grain size of strips shall comply with the provisions of YS/T 347.
4.7 Surface quality
The surface quality of strips shall be inspected visually.
5 Inspection rules
5.1 Inspection and acceptance
5.1.1 The strips shall be inspected by the technical supervision department of the
supply party, to ensure that the product quality comply with the provisions of this
Standard (or the order contract); the quality certificate shall be filled.
5.1.2 The demand party shall re-inspect the products received in accordance with the
provisions of this Standard and the order (or contract). If the re-inspection result is
inconsistent with the provisions of this Standard and the order (or contract), the
demand party shall notify the supply party in paper form, to settle this issue through
negotiation between the supply and demand parties. The objection about surface
quality and dimensional deviation shall be raised within 1 month after receiving the
products;
5.2 Batching
The strips shall be submitted for acceptance in batches, AND each batch shall be
composed of the same designation, state and specification. The weight of each batch
shall generally be not more than 4 500 kg (if the batch is from same melting, then the
batch weight may be not more than 8 000 kg).
5.3 Inspection items
5.3.1 Each batch of strips shall be subject to the inspection of chemical composition,
dimension and allowable deviation and surface quality.
5.4 Sampling
The sampling of strips shall comply with the provisions of Table 6.The sampling
method shall comply with the provisions of YS/T 668; the sample for mechanical
properties and process performance shall be prepared according to the provisions of YS/T 815.
5.5 Determination of test results
5.5.1 When the chemical composition test results are not qualified, then the whole
batch of strips is determined as disqualified.
5.5.2 When the dimensions and surface quality of the strip are not qualified, then the
corresponding strip is determined as disqualified.
5.5.3 When the test results of mechanical properties, bend test, grain size and
electrical properties are not qualified, it shall, from this batch (including the strip that is
determined disqualified),
6 Marking, packaging, transportation, storage and quality certificate
The markings, packaging, transportation, storage and quality certificates of products
shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 8888.
7 Order (or contract) content
The order (or contract) for ordering the products listed in this Standard shall include
the following information.
a) Product name;
b) Designation;
c) State;
d) Dimension specifications;
e) Weight;
f) Allowable dimension deviation (for higher grade or those having special
requirements; supply by ordinary grade when it is not indicated);
