introduction
This standard describes the degree of protection provided by the grading system the electrical device housing. Although this system is suitable for most types of electrical
Equipment, but for specific types of electrical equipment, it does not necessarily apply to all level of protection. It should recommend the device manufacturer to determine the applicable anti
Protection level, and the components of the applications level.
The application of the grading system described embodiment the housing so as to provide complete protection level and give different levels of Test Method system
one. This will enable test equipment for a wider range of products, it will also reduce the number of required test equipment.
The second edition of IEC 60529 takes into account the experience of the first edition, to clarify the requirements. When in fact, prevent human access to hazardous parts grade
When the level is higher than the first characteristic of the digital representation, the present standard by adding the letters A, B, C, D provide a selectable extended range.
In general, according to the previous version of an IP code label housing, the predetermined level for the same edition.

1 Scope and purpose
This standard applies to the rated voltage of not more than 72.5kV, by classifying protective enclosure for electrical equipment protection.
Purpose of this standard is as follows.
a) a predetermined content enclosure class following electrical equipment.
1) close to the shell body to prevent hazardous parts;
2) preventing a solid foreign matter into the apparatus housing;
3) to prevent water from entering the housing of the device causing harmful effects.
b) identifying the degree of protection.
c) for each required degree of protection.
d) according to the requirements of the standard housing for the verification test.
Various products referenced extent and manner of the enclosure class, and what the shell is made, the decision left to the product standards, protection of specific
Test levels used should comply with the provisions of this standard, if necessary, increase the additional requirements in the relevant product standard. Available in the relevant product standard
Registration rules as specified in Appendix B.
Special type of equipment, product standards may specify different requirements, but at least to ensure the same level of safety.
This standard is only considered in all respects comply with the provisions of the relevant product standard housing, under normal conditions of use, housing materials and processes should
Guarantee the achievement of the required level of protection.
If the class of devices to meet the general requirements and test the selected level of protection applies to the device type, the standard is also applicable to the present
Empty enclosure type device.
For mechanical damage, corrosion, corrosive solvents (such as cutting fluid), fungi, insects, solar radiation, freezing, moisture (e.g., due to condensation), burst
Effects of external environmental conditions or other gas bomb shell of the housing apparatus and protective measures and to prevent damage to the outer housing hazardous moving parts
(Fan) contacting the product by the relevant standards.
The separator is not connected to the housing and the barrier specially set for personal safety, not considered part of the housing, the present study not standard.
