As compared with JB/T 106-1978, the main technical contents of this standard are as follows. - In accordance with the change of the standard’s content, CHANGE standard name from “Valve - Marking and identification paint” to “Valves marking and paint”; - ADD normative references; - ADD the marking pattern for valve’s drift diameter and pressure code, MODIFY the marking pattern in angular form; - MODIFY the provisions on the size of the casting mark and the font’s stamping depth of the stamped mark; - MODIFY the provisions on “valve material identification paint”; - DELETE the “identification paint of valve’s sealing surface material”; - MODIFY the requirements for the paint color of the valve’s drive device. GB/T 12220 General valve - Signs (GB/T 12220-1989, idt ISO 5209.1977) 3 Signs and marking methods 3.1 Content of sign The outer surface of the valve’s pressure bearing body shall be marked with a permanent sign in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 12220. The contents of the sign shall include the valve’s drift diameter, pressure code or working pressure code, material grade or code, manufacturer name or trademark, furnace number (casting valve).
