1 Scope

This standard defines the relevant terms and definitions of tsunami science. This standard applies to tsunami observation, early warning, disaster risk assessment, post-disaster investigation, scientific research and other activities.

2 Tsunami classification

2.1 Tsunami Long-period, small-amplitude gravity waves triggered by underwater earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, or underwater collapses and landslides, at speeds of hundreds of kilometers per hour The degree spread to the shore, forming a fierce and extremely harmful wave.
