This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 8297-2017 "Determination of potassium hydroxide (KOH) value of concentrated natural rubber latex". With GB/T 8297- Compared with.2017, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows. a) Added normative reference document GB/T 601 (see 4.1, 4.2); b) Added CAS number of reagents (see Chapter 4); c) Change the requirements for the removal of carbon dioxide from formaldehyde solutions or distilled water to paragraph (see 4.3, 4.4 of the.2017 version); d) Added calculation of water used to dilute latex (see Chapter 7); e) Added normative reference document GB/T 8170 (see Chapter 8); f) Added requirements for the interpretation of constants in formulas and test results (see Chapter 8). This document has been modified to adopt ISO 127.2018 "Determination of potassium hydroxide (KOH) value of concentrated natural rubber latex". 1 Scope

This document describes a method for the determination of the potassium hydroxide (KOH) value of concentrated natural rubber latex, wholly or partially preserved with ammonia. This document applies to latex containing boric acid. This document does not apply to latex preserved with potassium hydroxide. This document does not necessarily apply to natural latex from sources other than Hevea brasiliensis, nor does it necessarily apply to synthetic latex or compound rubber. latex, vulcanized latex and aqueous rubber dispersions.
