1 Scope

3 Principle

The sample is dissolved in hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, nitric acid, sulfuric acid is boiled and smoke dissolves barium sulfate, so that it forms barium bisulfate, diluted with water to precipitate pure Barium sulfate is precipitated, filtered and washed to separate the barium from most interfering elements. In an ammoniacal medium, heat the barium sulfate precipitate with an excess of EDTA standard solution to dissolve it, and titrate with magnesium chloride standard solution EDTA standard solution, calculate the barium content in the sample. If the strontium content in the sample is greater than 0.02%, add excess magnesium chloride-potassium dichromate standard solution to generate barium chromate and release EDTA Complex with excess magnesium ion, use KB as indicator, titrate with EDTA standard solution, calculate the barium content in the sample.
