1 Scope

This document describes the method for determining the compressive strength and flexural strength of ceramic materials at room temperature. This document is applicable to the determination of ceramic materials and their auxiliary materials.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1 Compressive strength The maximum load that a material can bear per unit area. 3.2 Bending strength The maximum stress when the specimen is subjected to static bending force and fails. Note. It is expressed as the ratio of the bending force applied to the specimen when it is destroyed to the modulus of rupture at the fracture point. 4.Instruments and Equipment 4.1 Compression strength testing machine. The pressure when the sample is fully crushed is between 10% and 90% of the testing machine's range. The relative error of the testing machine is not large.
