1 Scope and purpose

Except for the following contents, Chapter 1 of GB/T 42125.1-2024 is applicable. 1.1.1 Equipment to which this document applies replace. This document specifies the safety requirements and related qualification of any product that performs control equipment functions and/or their associated peripheral equipment In addition, these products are intended for use in controlling and commanding machines, automated manufacturing and industrial processes, such as discrete and continuous control. The following are some examples. ---Programmable logic controller (PLC); ---Programmable Automation Controller (PAC); ---Distributed control system (DCS); ---Remote input and output (I/O); ---Programming and debugging tools (PADTs); ---Human-machine interface (HMI); ---Locator. The above-specified equipment and components within the scope of this document are. --- (Auxiliary) independent power supply; ---Peripheral devices such as digital and analog I/O, remote I/O; ---Industrial network equipment. Control devices and their associated peripherals are intended for use in an industrial environment and may be supplied as open or closed equipment. Note 1.Control equipment also intended to be used in other environments or for other purposes (for example. for use in building installations to control lighting or other electrical devices, or for cars, trains or ships), can have additional compliance requirements defined by safety standards based on these applications. These requirements may include Such as. insulation, space and power limitations. NOTE 2 Computing apparatus and similar equipment within the scope of IEC 60950 (intended to be replaced by IEC 62368) and complying with its requirements are considered suitable for use with this document. However, some requirements of IEC 60950 for moisture and liquid resistance are not the same as those in GB/T 42125.1-2024. Paragraph 2 of 5.4.4 is strict. The control equipment covered by this document is intended for use in low voltage installations of overvoltage category II (IEC 60664-1). The rated supply voltage of the equipment is Not exceeding AC effective value 1000V (50/60Hz), or DC 1000V. The requirements of ISO /IEC Guide 51 and IEC Guide 104 that are relevant to this document have been included here. 1.1.2 Equipment not included in the scope of this document This document does not cover the entire automation system, such as a complete assembly line. Control equipment (such as DCS and PLC), application of control equipment Programs and associated peripherals are considered to be components of the overall automation system (in this document, components cannot perform useful functions by themselves). This document only considers the control equipment (such as DCS and PLC) as a component, and does not contribute to the safety of the entire automation system including installation and application. These considerations are outside the scope of this document. For electrical installations and guidelines, refer to the IEC 60364 series of documents or appropriate national/local regulations.
