1 Scope

This standard specifies the method for direct ultrasonic testing of discontinuous pulse echoes in materials and components using electromagnetic acoustic transducers. This standard applies to the electromagnetic ultrasonic testing of carbon steel, low-alloy steel and non-ferrous metals with a thickness of 6mm~100mm. 4 Method summary

4.1 Detection principle The electromagnetic ultrasonic transducer that can generate perpendicularly incident ultrasonic waves is used for electromagnetic ultrasonic direct incidence detection. The reflected signal information generated when detecting the discontinuous position and size, as shown in Figure 1.Electromagnetic ultrasonic straight probe can be used perpendicular to the surface of the workpiece The bias magnetic field and the pie-shaped, ring-shaped or butterfly-shaped coil structure excite and receive the ultrasonic transverse wave incident perpendicular to the surface; it can also be used parallel to the work surface.
