1 Scope

This standard specifies the safety requirements for the manufacture, installation, use and maintenance of snow removal machinery. This standard applies to snow removal machinery as defined in Chapter 3. This standard relates to the determination of snow removal by risk assessment when the snow removal machine is intended for use and when used under conditions foreseeable by the manufacturer. All major hazards associated with machinery and appropriate technical measures to eliminate and reduce the risks posed by these significant hazards (see Chapter 4). This standard does not address significant hazards associated with electromagnetic compatibility. Snow removal machinery is typically installed on carrying vehicles such as trucks, tractors, construction machinery and mobile industrial handling equipment. This standard does not include Including the requirements for carrying vehicles, even if it is specially modified to achieve the application of snow removal machinery. The requirements for carrying vehicles are applicable to Carrying regulations and standards for vehicle manufacturing. The use of snow removal machinery on public road traffic is governed by relevant national regulations. This standard does not include any requirements for a detachable body such as a detachable car. These requirements are stipulated by other standards.
