Summary: This standard specifies the size of the taper shank for modular tooling and manual tool changers (eg lathes, drills, milling machines and milling centers) with a steel ball tensioning system. The size of the O-type cooling seals for different sizes of taper shanks is given in Appendix A. Flange parts with trenches can be used for automatic tool change, can also be used for manual tool change.
